July 13th Update

Dear Friend,

Governor Pritzker has issued a disaster proclamation for several counties, including Cook County, based on the severe weather on July 2nd. The disaster proclamation takes effect immediately. While state officials have already been working closely and providing resources to impacted communities, this proclamation allows local entities increased access to state resources and emergency personnel who can assist in response and recovery efforts. I will update you as soon as more information is available.

Please be cautious when hiring contractors, plumbers, electricians or any type of business to work on your home. Unfortunately, there are unscrupulous people that take advantage of people in need of repairs. A referral from a trusted neighbor or friend is better than hiring someone that you do not know. Also, always check to make sure the business is licensed and insured.

Sincerely,
