The 38th Ward Office, along with The Cook County Assessor's will be hosting a TAX APPEAL SEMINAR on Tuesday, August 27th at St. Francis Borgia Stokes Center located at 8033 West Addison St. This tax appeal will affect your second installment of your 2019 property tax bill ( payable in 2020). The assessor's office will be on hand to assist you in filling out your appeal form. If you cannot attend the seminar you can also appeal your taxes online at
www.cookcountyassessor.com or for your convenience we have paper forms available in our office located at 3821 N. Harlem Ave. Monday- Friday 9am-5pm. Please remember to bring your Tax Bill or Property Index Number (PIN)

CHICAGO AIR & WATER SHOW
Chicago Air and Water Show is this Saturday, August 17th and Sunday. August 18th. It will take place along the lakefront from Fullerton to Oak Street, with the best viewing at North Avenue Beach. I have a limited number of free tickets to give out. These tickets are for a reserved viewing area on North Ave. Beach. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are for
38th Ward Residents Only. Proof Of Residency Is Required.

SEWER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
The 38th Ward has begun a
major SEWER FLOODING IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
. There will be over 2 miles of new sewer piping installed to help our community from flooding
issues. The
Department of Water Management's private contractor
will begin work to
install new 24
to 30-inch sewer mains on N Osage Ave, N
Ozanam Ave, W Forest Preserve Ave,
N Ottawa Ave,
N Oleander Ave, N Olcott Ave,
W Addison St, N Oketo Ave and W Byron St.
The old sewer main
dates back to
1891 and 1893 and needs to be replaced. The project should be completed by Fall 2020.

project enters each new construction phases
from mobilization of

When crews are working in the street, they may close it to traffic for safety
reasons, but you will
always be able to reach your home or business.
"No Parking" signs will be posted as
needed during
work hours
(generally 7am-4pm).

FREE MUSEUM PASS to 38th Ward Residents for up to four people on a first come first serve basis, unfortunately it isn't always available when you need it. If the pass isn't available please be informed there are many dates that the museums offer free admission.

Street Sweeping
Chicago utilizes mechanical street sweepers to remove debris and litter from streets. Bright orange temporary parking restrictions are posted the day before sweeping service is scheduled to ensure curb-to-curb cleaning. Some arterial streets have permanently posted signs that specify a once-per-week period when parking is prohibited for street sweeping.
