Dear Friend, 

This week I had the privilege to dedicate N Paris Avenue between W Waveland and W Grace “Honorary Alexandria Lialios Way” in memory of an exceptional teacher who touched the lives of so many children. Alexandria Lialios was a first-grade teacher at Canty School for 34 years. She specialized in early childhood development and was a bilingual Greek instructor. Alexandria and her many contributions to this community will be truly missed.

The 38th Ward Office will be closed on Monday, June 20th in observance of the Juneteenth holiday. The office will reopen Tuesday, June 21st at 9:00am. Please note there will be a change in the refuse collection schedule. Black carts will not be collected on Monday. Collection will resume Tuesday, June 21st. Please ensure all refuse carts are accessible throughout the week and not solely on the usual day of pick up until they are serviced.

Please look out for no parking signs. Cars that are not moved on street sweeping days prohibit the sweeper from thoroughly cleaning the street. Also, tickets will be issued to cars not complying with the no parking signs. Thank you for your cooperation.
