Alderman Reilly Reports

Alderman Reilly on the Lisa Dent Show

Earlier this week, Alderman Reilly joined Lisa Dent on WGN Radio to discuss an ordinance he will be introducing in response to incidents of dogs shocked by electricity in the River North neighborhood. Click here to listen to the interview.

Teen Takeovers

Alderman Reilly is deeply concerned and frustrated with the violent Teen Takeovers in the Streeterville neighborhood, which have occurred with increasing frequency.

The Alderman has co-sponsored an ordinance (O2024-0010163) to modify curfew hours within the Central Business District to 8pm (daily) for minors. Alderman Reilly believes this ordinance will make our community safer.

Unfortunately, Mayor Brandon Johnson opposes the new curfew and has blocked the City Council from debating or voting on the measure.

In a recent letter to Mayor Johnson, Alderman Reilly and Alderman Hopkins express the community’s concerns with these gatherings and ask for help to make Streeterville safer. Please click here to read the letter.

Alderman Reilly is committed to identifying new and creative solutions to combat these large group gatherings.

Stay tuned to Reilly Reports for future updates about the proposed 8pm curfew and other measures put in-place to deter Teen Takeover.
