BIS Launches New Web Page to Help Small Companies and those New to Export

On November 29, 2018, the U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) announced the launch of a new web page dedicated to providing help and guidance to small and new-to-export companies. The page provides links to various BIS resources, including a new way to contact BIS regulatory counselors by email at smallbiz@bis.doc.gov.

In addition to updating the introductory guides that have been available on the BIS Export Control Basics page (Introduction to the Commerce Department's Export Controls;  How to Determine an Export Control Classification Number; and  Frequently Asked Questions to Export Licensing Requirements), BIS has also created a few new short videos available in its Online Training Room to help get new business started and provide refreshers for those already engaged in export transactions. For those in search of additional resources, check out BIS's exporter portal .

BIS has indicated it plans to add new videos in the coming months, so stay tuned.
