Welcome New Residents!

"From Veneto to Santa Barbara"

We welcome, Sebastiano and Gina Capovilla to the Alexander Gardens community. They first met through mutual friends in the Veneto region of Northern Italy in the early 1960s. When they met Sebastiano, 22 years old, was fulfilling his military service. While he was in service his family decided to emigrate to Santa Barbara. Later, he joined them after completing his military service.

Despite the time and distance, Sebastino and Gina remained close through lengthy love letters. Then in the summer of 1966, he returned to Italy to marry his beloved in her hometown of Oné di Fonte. They tied the knot on August 13, 1966, and soon after, she joined him in Santa Barbara. They have resided in the San Roque area for the past 58 years, where they built a beautiful life together, and raised two children.

Over the years, Gina became well-known for her talent as a seamstress and her passion for cooking, gardening, and socializing with friends. Sebastino worked as a landscaper and enjoyed several hobbies, including hunting, gardening, and cheering on his soccer teams—AC Milan and the Italian National Team.

Now blessed with five grandchildren—Emily, Claire, Bradley, Matthew, and Andrew—they continue to cherish family gatherings and moments spent with friends. We are thrilled to have them as part of our Alexander Gardens family, and we look forward to sharing many new memories with them.

Furry Friends, Lasting Joy

“Bringing Paws and Smiles Together”

Pets offer unconditional love, reduce stress, and improve overall well-being for our residents. We partner with the Santa Barbara Humane Society, a champion for animals since 1887, to bring furry friends to our community.

The Santa Barbara Humane Society has a rich history of supporting both animals and the people who love them. With their visits, our residents have the opportunity to engage with adoptable pets, putting a smile on their face.

Whether it’s petting a dog or cuddling a cat, the positive effects on emotional well-being are clear. This partnership enhances our residents’ lives and supports the mission of Santa Barbara Humane. Together, we’re making a difference for our residents and our four-legged friends.

Creativity Never Ages

Discover the Joy of Activities!

Stay Sharp, Stay Creative,

Express, Explore, and Enjoy!

Art and engaging activities allow individuals to express emotions, memories, and creativity, which can be particularly meaningful for our residents.

Activities such as arts and crafts, scrapbooking, or a weekly share circle help preserve memories, express personal stories, and maintain cognitive sharpness.

Our classes are always fun and family and friends are always welcome! Please join us anytime!

Thank you Central Coast Home and Health!

Thursday, Central Coast is vaccinating our residents with their flu shots. We appreciate their effort in helping our residents prevent severe illness and ensure a healthier community during this flu season.
