| | Algonquin Fest to Debut July 24-26 | | |
The Village of Algonquin invites residents and visitors to mark their calendars for the inaugural Algonquin Fest, a new signature event celebrating the heart, heritage, and vibrant spirit of the community. The festival will take place at Spella Park on July 24-26. Friday, 4-10 pm; Saturday Noon to 10 p.m. and Sunday Noon to 7 p.m. Located at 2610 Harnish Dr., Algonquin Fest promises a full weekend of entertainment, activities, and small-town charm.
Algonquin Fest brings together everything that makes the Village special, offering a lively mix of live music, arts and crafts vendors, and a wide variety of local food vendors, crafters, and community organizations. Families will enjoy the carnival, which features a dedicated kids’ area with activities designed for all ages.
Don’t miss the spectacular fireworks that will light up the sky on Saturday, July 25!

| | Willoughby Farms Park Reconstruction Beginning in July | | |
Willoughby Farms Park is scheduled to close on Tuesday, July 7, as early phases of a comprehensive park reconstruction project begin. The park is expected to reopen in summer 2027 following completion of the improvements.
Planned upgrades include new pickleball courts, a nature-themed playground, a multi-use sports court, a gathering plaza with water features, a restroom building, expanded parking, improved walking paths, and shoreline habitat enhancements.
The project is supported in part by a $600,000 Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant awarded to the Village of Algonquin by the State of Illinois to help enhance local parks and outdoor recreation opportunities.

| | Algonquin Invites Community to Celebrate America 250 | | |
The Village of Algonquin invites residents and visitors to celebrate America’s 250th birthday with an evening of live music, food, and family-friendly activities on Thursday, July 2, at Towne Park, 100 Jefferson Street.
The celebration will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and will feature a special performance by the Tim Gleason Band, along with food vendors, local performances, balloon artists, face painting, and other activities throughout the evening.
“America’s 250th birthday is an opportunity to reflect on our nation’s history while bringing our community together to celebrate,” said Village President Debby Sosine. “We look forward to welcoming residents and visitors for an evening of music, entertainment, and community spirit.”

Village Offices Closed July 3
Village of Algonquin offices will be closed on Friday, July 3, and will resume regular business hours on Monday, July 6. Groot services will operate as usual, with garbage and recycling collection occurring on its regular schedule.

New Residential Waste Program Underway
The Village of Algonquin's new cart-based waste collection program is now in effect. Residents receive weekly collection using a refuse cart provided by Groot, with smaller cart options available upon request. Yard waste collection remains unchanged, with stickers still required except during designated free collection periods. Residents with questions about the program may call Groot at 847-734-6400 for assistance.

Algonquin Named Tree City for 30th Consecutive Year
The Village of Algonquin has once again been recognized as a Tree City USA community by the Arbor Day Foundation, marking its 30th consecutive year receiving the designation. Algonquin also earned the Tree City USA Growth Award for the fifth consecutive year, recognizing its continued commitment to urban forestry and environmental stewardship.

Licensed Illinois physicians are available seven days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., making it easy to connect when you need care.

Utility Construction & Easement Information
Residents may occasionally notice utility construction in neighborhoods, including work in rear and side yards, parkways, and along roadways. This work may be performed by public utilities, telecommunications providers, contractors, or the Village to install, maintain, repair, or upgrade infrastructure, and may occur within recorded utility easements. If you have questions about construction activity near your property, the Village's Public Works Department can help identify the responsible utility or contractor and provide the appropriate contact information.
