In 2025, we helped 14,500 children across the country. This year so far, we have assisted 8,455 kids, which puts us on pace to break last year’s record! Meanwhile, in the month of May alone, we spent $100,147, an all-time record for one month. As the number of requests continues to increase, we have hired Siobhan Casey on a part-time staff basis to help process our gift cards. At the same time, Siobhan is leading the effort to implement a new request platform that will help us streamline our internal process.

In April, we were honored to receive the Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid, a nonprofit organization that helps donors research and evaluate charities. Platinum is their highest level of recognition for nonprofit transparency and accountability.

Always eager to reach more children, Executive Director Ron Fitzsimmons spoke in person or on Zoom to the following groups: the parishioners of Trinity Church (VA), the Clackamas County (OR) Barrier Busters, counselors at The Home for Little Wanderers in Boston, and the Arlington County (VA) social workers’ monthly conference.  

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we just received a grant for $250,000 from a foundation that wishes to remain anonymous. One of the board members heard about us when Patton Oswalt played for us on Celebrity Jeopardy!

While we usually provide assistance to one child at a time, we made a special exception in April, donating $5,000 to Bryant Alternative High School (VA) so its seniors could enjoy a graduation celebration similar to those at traditional high schools.

More kudos to our friend Patton Oswalt who, in May won $50,000 for us on Celebrity Jeopardy. Meanwhile, he was kind enough to highlight our work in an interview in US Magazine. “Alice’s Kids is a charity doing great work. They’re this amazing group who provide funds for at-risk kids, anonymously, because they’re so aware of all the poverty shaming that goes on in this country.”  

We rely so much on our volunteers. In February we hosted a “thank you” lunch for local volunteers.
