We did a lot in March! Here's a recap.

Job Shadow
March concluded our Job Shadow Pilot. East High School Students experienced a 4-hour hands-on job shadow at a local businesses that aligned with their career interests. Alignment Rockford implemented the pilot in November, February, and March - upon review of outcomes, board members will help decide if this pilot is ready for scale-up.

Single Point of Entry
Our Healthy Starts Team developed a card that identifies organizations for basic needs as a single point of entry. This card was turned into an electronic self-service kiosk and placed at four pilot locations on March 1st. Users are able to find services they need all in one place. When this pilot ends in June, the team will determine scale-up capabilities.

Ready to Learn
Rockford Public Schools, Private and Parochial schools, Alignment Rockford, and Transform Rockford, have partnered with the Erikson Institute to assess kindergarten readiness within communities using a new tool called the Early Development Instrument (EDI). The tool will allow us to see the correlations between children's strengths and vulnerabilities with assets and resources in their neighborhoods. These results can help build new legislation, re-allocate resources, align programs, etc.
