UMOR SUNDAY, MARCH 14
TO SUPPORT VICTIMS OF DISASTER
United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is a program by the General Board of Global Ministries taking action when disaster strikes around the globe. UMCOR acts as the hands and feet of Christ’s church, moving towards the most vulnerable in their time of need. Helping people in their darkest days doesn’t have to be something “they” do, it can be something “we” do.
We hope that you will give generously on UMCOR Sunday, March 14th so that we, along with our United Methodist congregations around the globe, can share compassionate relief in the midst of devastation.

You may give online or send a check to Wesley UMC, 502 E. Front, Bloomington, IL 61701. Be sure to designate your gift for UMCOR.

If you want to learn more about UMCOR visit: www.umcgiving.org/UMCOR

CONFERENCE CAMPING FUNDRAISER
Conference camping has a long-standing history of creating opportunities for spiritual growth in young disciples of our faith. Wesley UMC is re-committing our youth and children’s ministry programs to sending our students to camp each summer to experience the joy and sacredness of summer camp programming.

When in-person camp programming was cancelled this past summer in 2020, not only were many students and volunteers disappointed and upset, but vital revenue was lost causing financial distress for both camps.

Our conference camping ministries are planning a FITNESS CHALLENGE-FUNDRAISER to help raise and replace money lost in the pandemic this summer! Beginning on March 1st, you are invited to walk/run/hike or jog 262 miles, which represents the distance between Little Grassy to East Bay, our 2 conference-owned and operating camps in the IGRC.

Everyone is invited to take the next 6 months and complete the distance while tracking your miles in a private Facebook group with other people across the state!
You are invited to ask/find a sponsor who would match your donation through your fitness journey, which would fully fund a whole day of camp for 1 student!

Kelsey Ross, our Director of Youth Ministries at Wesley, is planning to complete the "round trip" tier of the fundraiser, and do 524 miles between March 1st and August 31st, and is looking for a sponsor/running buddy who will match the registration fee of $80!

Additional information about a Wesley 5K run to be held in warmer weather will be announced at a later date.

Consider donating or joining our effort to get outside and get well as we support the summer ministries at our conference camps. For more information and to sign up for the walk/run challenge visit click here. Contact Kelsey with any questions.
Hospital Visits

As healthcare facilities are beginning to allow area clergy to visit patients again, please remember to notify the Church office or a pastor when you or a loved one are admitted to a local hospital. Hospitals are no longer allowing churches to inquire about their congregants' inpatient status or room number. We will not know if you have been admitted to the hospital unless you give us a call.

If you have news to share with the Wesley family let us know by e-mailing
[email protected] or calling 309-827-8046.
