Welcome to the Plymouth District Library online community
Youth Floor Opens for Browsing
Grab and Go
The Plymouth District Library is pleased to announce that the Youth floor is once again open!

With this step, all three floors of the library are now open for browsing.  This exciting news happily coincides with the first day of National Library Week, the theme for which is “Welcome to Your Library".

We are so pleased to finally be able to welcome back our youngest patrons!

Kids may notice that things are a bit different than when they were last here. Puppets, puzzles and computers are still not available, as we are still in a Grab & Go phase; patrons are asked to limit visits to one hour or less.

Mask wearing and physical distancing are still in effect.

Curbside pickup on the porch continues to be available as well.

Welcome back, kids!

Introducing Our New Youth Librarian, Jessica Keeler
Newest librarian Jessica Keeler
I'm so happy to be a part of the Plymouth team! I have a BA in Theatre (Design & Technology) from the University of Toledo and a Masters in Library & Information Science from Wayne State.

My obsession with books started when I was a kid and spent hours on the floor marveling at the cover art of my parents' old science fiction paperbacks. These days, I read mostly juvenile fiction.

I've served on the Michigan Library Association's YouPer Award Committee (an award for juvenile literature in chapter book format) for the last couple of years and have a passion for serving young patrons - especially middle-grade.

I love dogs and being outside! I recently adopted a pit bull mix who has helped me shave 2 minutes off my 3-mile runs. If you have a dog, tell them I said hi!

Teen Books & Bites Meetup Next Week
Beast Made at Night
It’s not too late to join in on the Books & Bites meetup next week. We're reading and talking about Beasts Made of Night by Tochi Onyebuchi on Thursday, April 15 at 7pm.

Beasts Made of Night is 298 pages of Nigerian-influenced, action-packed fantasy. Taj is a talented sin-eater - a dangerous job where he consumes the guilt of the rich and powerful, whose transgressions are erased from their bodies and the marks of their bad deeds are painted onto his own skin. After he eats a monstrous sin of a royal, Taj is drawn into a plot by corrupt officials to destroy his city, and he must fight to save the princess he loves and his own life.

The meeting is virtual, but the books and the bites are real.

Sign up today to get your free copy of the book to keep and a snack to munch.
