All Aboard Reading Railroad's Begindergarten!

Their bags are packed, their shoes are on, the buses await...bring them on!

2015 Begindergarten Students
United Way of Cass County's Reading Railroad is welcoming 90 students this summer to Begindergarten. In its 5th year, Begindergarten's mission is to help local, incoming Kindergarten students gain the skills they need in order to enter Kindergarten successfully. Students will participate in 15 hours of Kindergarten readiness intervention each week, for six weeks; resulting in 90 extra hours of kindergarten preparation for each student enrolled, prior to starting school this Fall.

This summer, former Begindergarten teacher Kate Coryea will serve as the Begindergarten Coordinator. She will play a vital role in the program's success. Also joining the staff are 6 teachers and 7 instructional assistants, all from our local schools. Together, they will provide engaging, educational opportunities for our students that are focused on five Super Skills: Name Recognition, Alphabet, Numbers, Shapes and Color Identification!

Cass County Reading Railroad's Begindergarten program would not be possible without generous community partnerships! This year's partners include: United Way of Cass County, PNC Bank, Area V Agency on Aging, Logansport Community School Corporation, Duke Energy, Indiana Association of United Ways and Dollar General.
