Bone Health & Osteoporosis Foundation
For nearly 40 years, the Bone Health & Osteoporosis Foundation (BHOF) has been committed to preventing osteoporosis and promoting awareness of bone health. Osteoporosis is a bone disease that results in weaker bones. A woman’s risk of osteoporosis increases with age, especially after menopause. Breaking a bone is a serious complication of osteoporosis, especially for older women. About one in two women over the age of 50 will break a bone due to osteoporosis.
The good news is that there is a lot you can do to protect your bones throughout your life! You’re never too young or too old to improve the health of your bones. Your Path to Good Bone Health provides the tools you need depending where you are in your bone health journey.
October 20 is World Osteoporosis Day! Join BHOF and organizations across the globe in raising awareness of bone health. Visit bonehealthandosteoporosis.org for more information, or contact education@bonehealthandosteoporosis.org.
