A note from Fr. Tommy

This Sunday we hear one of the most powerful stories in all of Scripture: Jesus standing at the tomb of his friend Lazarus and calling him back to life. It is a story about grief, about love, and about a God who is not distant from our sorrow, but who stands at the edge of it and calls us into something new.

And on this day, we will witness that same promise in a different form as we celebrate Holy Baptism. In the waters of baptism, we proclaim that death does not have the final word. We trust that God is always at work bringing life out of what feels finished, hope out of what feels sealed shut.

As we gather, we are invited to listen for that same voice speaking into our own lives—calling us out of whatever holds us bound, and into the freedom and fullness of life in Christ.
