Campus to Remain Closed and Events Canceled
Thank you for your overwhelming support during this challenging time. We remain confident in God’s faithfulness to the CVCA community.
Ohio School Closure Order
Based on Governor Mike DeWine’s updated order announced Monday, April 21, 2020, Ohio school buildings and campuses must remain closed during the remainder of this school year. In accordance with the governor’s order and to mitigate the chance of contagion, all remaining school activities for the 2019-2020 school year are canceled. This includes all extra-curricular activities, competitions, clubs, meetings, performances/shows, school trips, and events. OHSAA has canceled all spring sports in conjunction with the governor’s order. CVCA summer trips, summer camps, and summer school this summer are also canceled.

As additional information is made available, we will communicate directly with you. We are grateful that God has blessed CVCA with the resources to be able to continue teaching and learning through CVCA Online during this closure.
Graduation is a seminal event at CVCA and we have tentative dates secured at EJ THomas (June 20 and July 11). We will follow the direction for what is dictated at that time and are considering alternative options. We are currently exploring all possible options and venues to hold this event in a way that would align with Governor DeWine’s orders.
Reminder: Cancelation of Semester Exams
Students have been working diligently in the CVCA Online environment and certainly have the conclusion of the academic year in mind. Based on our unexpected and unique mid-semester transition to CVCA Online , the administration has decided that it would not be reasonable to expect students to take a semester exam worth 20% of their grade for Spring 2020. Therefore, spring semester CVCA exams will be canceled for all grade levels , and second semester grades will be calculated as an average of third and fourth quarter grades.

  • Students in AP courses are still required to take their AP exam in order to receive AP credit and GPA weight second semester (as described in the CVCA Student/Parent Handbook). AP exams will be offered at home on student Chromebooks at the times listed in the below calendar (as determined by the College Board).

  • Students in CL courses taught on a college syllabus should check with their instructor as most CL courses will still require a final exam, paper, or project.
May Academic Schedule
The tentative schedule for picking up locker items and returning books and Chromebooks will be May 26-29.

If your child left an item in their locker that they need for their coursework, please contact and our team can set up a time to retrieve necessary class materials. Please do not come to school without an appointment; our campus is currently closed to students and guests by government order.

In Christ,
CVCA Administration
