V-28 Bay Boat – Down the Line

As we approach the end of 2023, it is hard to imagine how much we have accomplished since January. With the Valhalla Boatworks (VBW) fleet growing with the addition of the V-28 Bay boat and V-29 Hybrid, we are reaching new heights. The overwhelming success of the V-55 has catapulted us to be the leader in the large center console market. While many thought we may go bigger, the industry was surprised and exuberant with the announcement of the two new models.

Beginning this summer, our team has produced over 150 molds for both new models. The V-28 hull mold, stringer mold (pictured to the left during the egg crate phase)  and a plethora of fish boxes, lids and other molds have made their way to Mullica to begin their gelcoat application and fiberglass lamination process. V-29 molds will begin the manufacturing process soon.

The V-28 Bay boat hull mold was built by our team in the R&D Department, while our Plant Engineers designed and fabricated the custom turning rig to accommodate the demands of our fiberglass Specialists.

The mold arrived in Mullica and no time was wasted getting it unloaded and put into production. The same can be said about the stringer mold seen above being loaded onto the trailer by the Plant Engineering Team.

After the molds have been positioned on the production line, a group of experts who specialize in waxing and buffing the mold to perfection apply multiple coats of wax. Once buffed to a mirror finish, the overnight gelcoat crew sprays the mold allowing cure time to finish before the fiberglass specialists begin.
