New CSH10 Omni Scanning Sonar Better Than Ever With Advanced Features & TZtouchXL Interface

October 30, 2024

Sales Bulletin #2024-35

For the past decade, Furuno's CSH8L and CSH8LMK2 Omnidirectional Scanning Sonars have been the go-to choice for serious sportfishing enthusiasts and tournament competitors, with over a thousand units sold to high-performing fleets worldwide. We’re thrilled to unveil the next generation: the all-new CSH10 Omni Scanning Sonar! Built to elevate long-range fish finding and targeting to unprecedented levels, the CSH10 promises unmatched precision and performance for anglers aiming for victory. Don't miss our preview video for an exclusive first look at the CSH10 Sonar.

Omni aficionados will immediately notice the CSH10's refined, intuitive user interface, featuring improved fish target presentation, new icons, and customizable data displays. With a hull unit that travels twice as fast as the previous model, operators can reach targets more quickly and efficiently (up to 18 knots while in operation). Three-axis beam stabilization, integrated into the hoist, enables precise target tracking, while an easy-to-read tilt display shows beam direction and depth for quick target location.

The CSH10’s vivid 32-colors are displayed on optional large LCDs or networked MFDs (available early 2025). With dual HDMI video outputs (SXGA 1280 x 1024), users can create split-screen configurations or integrate video into onboard systems. Dramatic improvements in stabilization and color palette deliver richer visuals than prior models, while refined menus and up to 10 'P' Program settings allow display customization for specific fish or zones. A flexible data panel lets users see only their preferred information.

The CSH10 will integrate directly with TZtouchXL MFDs through a native Ethernet interface. Starting in early 2025 with TZtouchXL Version 25, users will have full control and viewing of the CSH10 across all connected TZtouchXL displays (TZT3 users still have the VI-CSH8L interface option). Once connected, the CSH10 display unlocks automatically, offering full, half, or quarter-screen views, and can overlay on charts for clear spatial awareness. Sonar event marks are shared with the plotter as stored points, while a transducer position indicator and intuitive data boxes on gain, range, and tilt provide critical information. Ten programmable buttons are also available within the XL software for added customization.

Here's an at-a-glance look at pricing and key features for the CSH10:

  • High power, Omni Scanning Sonar at 83.5kHz (adjustable +/- 2 kHz)
  • 24VDC power for the entire Sonar system
  • Increased travel speed of Hull Unit (twice as fast as CSH8LMK2)
  • Hoist lengths 600mm or 400mm
  • 32-color, SXGA high-resolution video from 2 HDMI outputs
  • Fully stabilized beam for motion-free display of fish targets
  • Connect up to (4) wireless Bluetooth remote controls
  • Two target lock modes
  • Hoist unit drilled and tapped for tube venting
  • Full network MFD interface with Furuno TZtouchXL! (coming early 2025)

Furuno has dramatically changed the control keyboard, offering a slim, easy-to-install full keyboard with the family appearance of all our other current equipment, with cable options in 5m or 10m. For those who do not want a full keyboard, the CSH10 also offers two remote control options! While we offer a conventional wired remote control, we are excited to announce the SCU001 wireless remote control ($435 MSRP), which will control main functions and offer five programmable function keys. Up to 4 wireless remotes can be connected to the processor for control from anywhere on the boat. This Bluetooth controller will run on a single set of simple AAA batteries for months. The compact SCU003 switch box ($430 MSRP) will be required for installations that don’t use a full keyboard to provide power on/off and emergency hoist retraction in case of an accident.

For our installing dealers, we’ve made the CSH10 system even more flexible and installer friendly. The hoist unit, transceiver, and processor are similar in size and weight to the CSH8LMK2 and are now powered by 24VDC. The transducer features a 10m cable compatible with a range of hull types, and two hoist sizes (600mm and 400mm) will be available, with the shorter 400mm version arriving in Q1 2025. The processor and transceiver are finished in a neutral white to blend seamlessly into engine rooms, and cabling options are simplified with various lengths available. The CSH10 and CSH8LMK2 share the same Sonar tubes, making retrofits very straightforward.

The hoist flange is pre-tapped for an air vent for high-speed vessels, and the new bronze “U-Ring” pressure fitting makes shaft installation and maintenance easier than ever. The transducer is housed in an oil-filled cover to enhance target detection and provide protection.

The CSH10 with 600mm hoist is available in limited quantities from both Furuno warehouses. 400mm hoists are expected in early 2025, along with the official release of TZtouchXL v25 software. In anticipation of high initial order volumes, Furuno is committed to an open and fair allocation to ensure that all dealers have access to this exciting new product and can meet deadlines for our valuable customers. We expect inventory to grow at the end of 2024 and in early 2025 so your customers can capitalize on installations required for the 2025 tournament fishing season.
