A Note From the Rector

Dear Saints,

Around thirty years ago, parishioners at All Saints' invited our church community into friendship with refugee families and individuals. Three decades on, and that invitation to see Christ in the lives of others has born incredible fruit in terms of how this friendship with refugee families has uniquely enriched our lives as we have endeavored to offer our best to them. Our dedication to this work is long-standing, deep-rooted, and thoroughly grounded in our faith as Episcopalians, and is possible because of our partnership with various refugee resettlement agencies in the city. This past week, I invited fellow leaders of 'Peachtree corridor' churches here in town to sign a letter I had written to Governor Kemp, encouraging him to authorize the resettlement of refugees in our state. If the Governor does not authorize the resettlement of refugees by the 17th of this month, just a few days from now, the agencies that serve refugees in our state will face catastrophic consequences to their ability to serve some of the most vulnerable of the neighbors around us.

I invite you to join this effort by communicating to the Governor how important refugee ministries is to our church and to the lives it touches, including our own. You can do so here: gov.georgia.gov. Scroll down to the bottom left to Constituent Services and click on the online form.

And Jesus said, 'I was a stranger, and you welcomed me'.

Peace,

Simon+
