At All Saints' Church we gather to know
Jesus Christ and make Him known.

The First Sunday of Advent

This Sunday we enter the first week of Advent. It is a season of growing darkness as we speed towards the shortest days of the year. The darkness, the cold and frosty mornings, the last of the leaves falling: these are all warnings that shout as loud as John the Baptist does, that it is time to prepare for the coming of our Lord and Savior.

The Advent Wreath is a wonderful symbol during this season. It is a show of confidence that the light that is Jesus has come, is coming now, and will come at the end of time. We invite you to join us in keeping this season holy.

Almighty God, give us grace to cast away the works of darkness, and put on the armor of light, now in the time of this mortal life in which your Son Jesus Christ came to visit us in great humility; that in the last day, when he shall come again in his glorious majesty to judge both the living and the dead, we may rise to the life immortal; through him who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

DIY Advent Wreath-making Party Planned - Volunteers needed!

It is now a tradition to have a big DIY Advent Wreath-making party at All Saints' on the First Sunday in Advent. Help is needed the Saturday before - December 1, from 3:00 - 5:00 pm - to prepare the greens and set-up the hall. We trim the greens and soak them overnight so they are extra fresh throughout the season. We also need help with clean-up after the event. A sign-up sheet is up in the Clark Street Vestibule.

AND....plan now to attend, Sunday, December 2 after both the 8:00 and the 10:00 am services. We ask for a $25.00 donation to help cover the cost of all the supplies.
Christmas Collection for Haiti

This year we are collecting backpacks, toiletries, and child-sized 10-14 underwear for the Mission of Hope in Haiti. All donations will be shipped down to Haiti in barrels after the first of the year. There is a collection barrel  in the Clark Street Vestibule.

Godly Play Foundation End-of-Year Fundraiser
From the Treasurer

As we head into the final weeks of the year, please make sure you complete your pledge payments for 2018.  When making pledge payments, whether in person or by mail, please use your printed envelope and use checks instead of cash.  Using the printed envelope simplifies the processing of payments for the offering stewards who count them as well as for the Assistant Treasurer/ Bookkeeper, as well as providing you with better records of your payments for tracking and income tax purposes.
