Journey through the Book of Judges
Rector’s Fall Bible Study
Thursdays through November 10, 2022, at 10:00 am & 7:00 p.m.
Location: Parish Hall

Throughout its history, Judges has both entertained and appalled readers—some read it as a series of simple stories about faithfulness and some as a brutal and bloodthirsty book. Using Roy Heller’s book “Conversations with Scripture: The Book of Judges,” (available at Amazon.com for $14) we will explore how the Book of Judges can shape our understanding of our world, our relationships, and can provide a path to a deeper appreciation of the ways of God among people. Far from seeing the Book of Judges as either simplistic or cruel, Heller allows this odd text to speak to us anew about God, sin, relationships, and justice.

What a wonderful Day School Sunday last week!!!

In true St. Paul's fashion, there was a warm welcome for all the Day School families and a joyous spirit in the church at our 10 am service!!! Many thanks to everyone who contributed to the hospitality enjoyed by all! And special thanks to those who generously donated to the Day School Funds! The gifts given to the Rolene Gent Memorial Scholarship Fund, the Patti Daniell Legacy Fund and the General Fund will make a long lasting impact on this wonderful ministry! If you would like to give a donation to this ministry for young children, you can click the following link to go to St. Paul's secure online donation page. Just designate "Day School Contribution" in the first drop down menu.

Many thanks for your support of St. Paul's Day School and the children whose lives are enriched through their attendance!
Thank You!

We thank all of you who contributed to our special Hurricane Ian Relief Appeal for the Diocese of Southwest Florida. We collected $3,000! This total includes the proceeds from the Brotherhood of St. Andrew’s Family Oktoberfest. These funds will be a blessing to our sisters and brothers in the Episcopal Diocese of Southwest Florida who are helping so many to recover from the devastating hurricane. Also, we are happy to share that our South Florida Haiti Project was the beneficiary of the collection taken at the recent Diocesan Convention Eucharist. The collection was over $6,000! God is good!

Monthly Tips from the Creation Care Ministry: November

  • Dispose of paints and lightbulbs and batteries and old cleaning supplies the right way.  Delray Beach has a terrific recycling location for individuals at their site off Linton and the FEC line.  Very easy to use.

  • Fresh frozen fruits and vegetables from the grocery store are better for the environment than canned.  Yes, the syrup on those canned peaches is tasty, but the chemicals used to preserve canned food, plus the chemicals that line a can, and the production of the cans is costly.  And do you need all that extra sugar?

  • Hurricane season is an exception in South Florida for buying bottled water, but now we’re going into calmer weather. Invest in a nice steel bottle for personal use. If you need Gatorade or Propel for exercise, opt for the powder, and add that to your personal bottle rather than purchasing their bottled drinks. Cheaper, more efficient, and you’re not adding bottles to the land fill.

  • When you need new appliances, find the ones with the highest energy efficient rating and make sure to recycle the old.

Faithful Giving

Please help us to keep our mission and ministry strong. St. Paul's staff, operations, community outreach, and our missions to help the most vulnerable are dependent on Sunday offerings to keep afloat. When Sunday offerings decrease, our missions become at risk.

Safe and secure online giving on our website - St. Paul's has a safe and secure electronic donation service available allowing you to make single donations or set up recurring donations. Click the button below to visit our donation page:
Mail -  If you prefer to send your pledge or other donation by check, please send your contribution to: St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 188 S. Swinton Avenue, Delray Beach, FL 33444.
Strengthening Ministries for Tomorrow’s Faithful

To ensure that the work of St. Paul’s lives on, remember St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in your estate planning. With a gift in your will, trust, or in some other way, you can make a lasting impact on those served through the mission and ministry of St. Paul’s.

One sentence in your will can make a lasting difference to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. To leave a gift in your will, simply share this sentence with your attorney or financial planner:

“I hereby bequeath to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Delray Beach, FL, the sum of $ (or % of my estate) to support its mission and ministry (or to the Legacy Fund of the Endowment Fund.)”

To talk with a member of the Endowment Fund Board about how you can continue to support the mission and ministry of St. Paul’s with a legacy gift, please contact Caren Kilpatrick, our Parish Administrator, at 561-276-4541 or [email protected].
