Church Family,
In our October newsletter, I wrote an article called “There’s a Place for You Here,” encouraging us to make worship a priority and reminding us that there is a place for everyone in the life of our church. I want to take a moment to thank you for responding to that invitation!
Our average adult worship attendance this October was 236, compared with 221 in October of last year. That’s an increase of 15 adults each Sunday, or nearly 7% year over year. While attendance is only one measure of the life of a congregation, it is an encouraging sign, and I’m grateful for each person who gathers with us to worship, grow in faith, and encourage one another. Keep coming, keep praying, and keep inviting!
Last Sunday, I spoke with a family who had moved back into the neighborhood after being away for a while. They shared how meaningful it was to be attending First Pres Wheaton again. Stories like theirs remind me that there is something special about having a church to call home.
This week, as we celebrate All Saints’ Sunday, we will remember the faithful people who showed up to worship before us, whose generosity sustained the church, and whose witness and trust helped shape our faith. We are part of that same great family of faith, and we have the privilege of making room for others to discover the love of Jesus and find their place among us.
Blessings,
Pastor Kellen

"When Every Tear Is Wiped Away"
On All Saints’ Sunday, we remember those who have gone before us in faith, even as we carry the grief of their absence. In Revelation, John offers us a vision of Jesus’ promised future, where the Lamb becomes our Shepherd, suffering gives way to peace, and every tear is wiped away. On a day when we also dedicate our financial pledges to the Lord, we give in the hope that our lives and our church's ministry can bear witness to this coming kingdom, where death will be no more and God's love will have the final word.

All Saints’ Sunday
This Sunday we will commemorate All Saints’ Sunday. During our communion liturgy, the pastor will recite the names of those in our church family who have passed on into glory in the past year. We will also remember all those beloved to us who are no longer with us.

Generosity Campaign 2027
Open hands are a picture of the Christian life. With open hands, we receive the gifts God has given us. With open hands, we give freely what the Lord has entrusted to us. And with open hands, we become a blessing to others. “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” — Acts 20:35
Dedication Sunday is November 1.
