Dear Friends
Last Sunday, we had the incredible opportunity to celebrate the seniors in our community. It was a day full of joy as we congratulated over 20 seniors who received blessings and began their journey into a new chapter of life. Taylor Docka, Baylor Ingram, Elliot Mainwaring, and Bue Reinking each delivered beautiful sermons reflecting on their time at All Saints and the gospel message of the Prodigal Son. Each sermon was unique, our preachers infused their personal stories into their messages, which really let their character and personality shine through every word.
Before the service, I had the privilege of speaking with some of the seniors, and they shared their thoughts and emotions about college and the exciting new phase they were about to enter. It was a powerful moment for me, as it was one of the few times I've experienced something that others have not yet gone through. Being a few years removed from my own graduation, I could reflect on my own journey and see how much I've grown. It felt as if I had crossed a river and swam to the other side, while now watching these students eagerly waiting to take their first step and dive in.
They shared with me the colleges they were hoping to attend, the ones they had committed to, and the excitement that filled them about their futures. Hearing about their unique journeys was truly heartwarming. Though our conversations were brief, they left a lasting impact on me, reminding me of the joy and anticipation that comes with embarking on a new adventure in life.
