Dear Friends

This Sunday, we celebrate Confirmation, and we are delighted to welcome Bishop Robert Wright as he confirms our confirmands and celebrates their next step of faith.

The confirmands publicly reaffirm their baptismal covenant, proclaiming that Jesus Christ is Lord and committing themselves anew to a life of following him, taking up their cross daily as all Christians are called to do.

Confirmation is one of the most powerful services in the life of the Church. There is an unmistakable sense of joy, anticipation, and movement of the Holy Spirit in the room. The energy of the service is deeply moving as the congregation gathers around these young people to support and encourage them in their faith.

As Youth Minister, I have the privilege of standing alongside the families and confirmands throughout this sacred moment. It is one of the most meaningful parts of my ministry. To witness and participate in the laying on of hands, when we gather around the confirmands in prayer and blessing, is deeply moving. You can see the emotion on the faces of the families, but especially in the youth themselves as they step into a new chapter of faith and feel the overwhelming love and support of their community surrounding them.

As the congregation renews its own baptismal covenant alongside the confirmands, it feels as though a warm blanket of love, grace, justice, and support is draped over the church. Together, we join in affirming the faith of a community that has walked beside these young people on their journey and will continue to walk with them in the years ahead.

Confirmation is a beautiful witness to faithful dedication to God, to our neighbors, and to the world. Together we celebrate these confirmands as they reaffirm their baptismal promises and continue growing into the people God is calling them to be.

Those who are coming to the Braves Game May 17th, please bring $20 to church on the 17th and I will collect payment during lunch in the Attic. We will eat lunch in the attic and leave for the game around 11:30am.

Peace,

Luke Nolfa

VBS Counselor wanted

Raising 6th-grauduating 12th grade

VBS June 1st-5th

This is your chance to be part of the joy of VBS, not just as a participant, but as someone who helps create it. As a VBS counselor, you help bring to life the fun, welcoming, and joyful environment that makes VBS so special.

If you attended VBS as a child, chances are you remember the fun, energetic counselors who made the experience unforgettable. Now it is your turn to be that person for someone else.

Counselors serve by mentoring and supporting children throughout the week. You may be assigned to a small group or help lead a specific station or activity, but in every role, you are helping create a meaningful and joyful experience.

You are the magic makers.

If you are interested in serving as a counselor, please email Kathy Roberts as soon as possible at kroberts@allsaintsatlanta.org.

To help build stronger connections and make this year meaningful for our youth, I’ve put together a Sign-Up Genius and a Google Doc with a variety of ways you can get involved in youth ministry. The Google Doc lists all the volunteer roles—please check the boxes for anything you're comfortable signing up for. The Sign-Up Genius includes specific dates and time slots for each opportunity.

Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or looking to jump in for the first time, there’s something for everyone:

Volunteer Roles Available:

  • Provide Dinner for Sunday Night Youth Group (SNL & Y'all Saints'): Help feed our hungry youth by cooking, ordering, or bringing dinner. Fan favorites include Moe’s and Papa John’s Pizza—always a hit! Please note you do not have to bring a separate dinner for SNL and Y'all Saints, because we all eat together!

  • Sunday Formation Teacher: Join a team of volunteers to lead Sunday morning formation. Don’t worry—you won’t be doing it alone. We’re building a team-based structure to make it collaborative and low-pressure, even for first-time teachers.

  • Sunday Greeters (Morning and Evening): A warm hello makes all the difference. Greeters help our youth feel seen and welcomed as they arrive for programming.

  • Drivers & Chaperones for Local Outings: Occasionally, we’ll head off-site for events like bowling, laser tag, Braves games, or other local activities. We’re looking for adults willing to drive and actively participate—whether that means scoring strikes or just being a supportive presence.

  • Retreat Drivers & Chaperones: If you’re able to spend a weekend away, we’d love to have you join us as a chaperone or driver. It’s a chance to connect deeply with our youth and experience God’s presence in new ways.

  • Home Gathering Hosts: We’re looking for hosts willing to open their homes for small-group gatherings, game nights, or seasonal celebrations. You choose what you’re comfortable hosting.

  • Letter Writing: Help send notes and flyers to members in our community

We’re looking forward to an amazing year together, and I’m so grateful for your time, support, and energy as we continue building a meaningful youth community!
