Dear Friends

Last Sunday’s Back to the Block was full of energy and it was wonderful to see so many of you. A special thank you to everyone who took part in "Pie a Priest." Your enthusiastic participation helped raise over $200 for the Youth Pilgrimage. Be on the lookout for more youth pilgrimage fundraising opportunities throughout the year!

Many hands make light work, and we need your help.

Join us this Sunday after the 10 AM service in Ellis Hall as we work together to make 800 sandwiches in just 45 minutes for The Sandwich Project.

The Sandwich Project distributes food to shelters and community centers that support people experiencing hunger. Some of the sandwiches will also be kept in our church freezer for those who come here seeking help. This is a wonderful intergenerational service project. Our youth have become experts at sandwich making and they would love for you to join in. It is a great way to connect with other peers, and feed our neighbor.

PS one week until youth programing starts! We're back on September 7th!

Peace,

Luke

Volunteer Opportunity

To help build stronger connections and make this year meaningful for our youth, I’ve put together a Sign-Up Genius and a Google Doc with a variety of ways you can get involved in youth ministry. The Google Doc lists all the volunteer roles—please check the boxes for anything you're comfortable signing up for. The Sign-Up Genius includes specific dates and time slots for each opportunity.

Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or looking to jump in for the first time, there’s something for everyone:

Volunteer Roles Available:

  • Provide Dinner for Sunday Night Youth Group (SNL): Help feed our hungry youth by cooking, ordering, or bringing dinner. Fan favorites include Moe’s and Papa John’s Pizza—always a hit!

  • Sunday Formation Teacher: Join a team of volunteers to lead Sunday morning formation. Don’t worry—you won’t be doing it alone. We’re building a team-based structure to make it collaborative and low-pressure, even for first-time teachers.

  • Sunday Greeters (Morning and Evening): A warm hello makes all the difference. Greeters help our youth feel seen and welcomed as they arrive for programming.

  • Drivers & Chaperones for Local Outings: Occasionally, we’ll head off-site for events like bowling, laser tag, Braves games, or other local activities. We’re looking for adults willing to drive and actively participate—whether that means scoring strikes or just being a supportive presence.

  • Retreat Drivers & Chaperones: If you’re able to spend a weekend away, we’d love to have you join us as a chaperone or driver. It’s a chance to connect deeply with our youth and experience God’s presence in new ways.

  • Home Gathering Hosts: We’re looking for hosts willing to open their homes for small-group gatherings, game nights, or seasonal celebrations. You choose what you’re comfortable hosting.

  • Letter Writing: Help send notes and flyers to members in our community

We’re looking forward to an amazing year together, and I’m so grateful for your time, support, and energy as we continue building a meaningful youth community!

Fall Acolytes

The fall acolyte schedule is out but that doesn't mean that the acolyte registration is closed. You still have the chance to join an acolyte team! We’re offering a second Acolyte Training on Sunday, September 14th, immediately following the 9:00 AM service in the church. Please email me if you want to attend to training on the 14th

During the training, we’ll review what it means to serve as an acolyte, walk through your responsibilities during the liturgy, and practice the specific movements and roles you’ll be leading on Sunday mornings. Whether you’re new or returning, this is a great chance to refresh and connect with your team.

Meet our new Ministry Intern

Naivion Stephens!

Everyone give a warm welcome to our new Ministry Intern, Naivion Stephens!

Naivion will be joining us this upcoming fall semester, and we’re so excited to have him on board. He poised to graduate with a baccalaureate degree in Philosophy and Religion from Morehouse College. Following this milestone, he will pursue a Master of Divinity at either the University of Chicago or Harvard University. His goal is to be ordained to preach, enter the academy as a Professor of Sacred Theology, Religion, Biblical Hermeneutics, and Philosophy, and continue advancing the mission of theological education and spiritual formation. He’s looking forward to meeting all of you and jumping into ministry with our amazing community!

Let’s show him how welcoming and supportive our All Saints' family can be!
