Reflections of the Week

The Episcopal Church Takes a Firm Stand Against Words of Hate Recently in the News

Recently musician Kanye West made deeply offensive comments towards our Jewish brothers and sisters. As Episcopalians we take a firm stance against antisemitic comments and hate speech of any kind. We stay rooted in our support, hospitality, and love for all peoples.

Prayers in a Season of Election

Gracious God, you are just, you are kind, you are holy. When I am lost, or questioning, or wondering, when I am unsure of the next step, when I cannot find my way, when voices are many and loud, you invite me to slow down, to seek the good, and to center myself on your holy invitation.

“Do justice,” you tell me, today.“Love kindness,” you advise, right now.“Walk humbly with me,” you invite, “and I will show you the way.My will for your life is not hard to find. Do justice, love kindness, walk with me.

Holy God, turn my heart toward justice. Brother Jesus, show me how to love kindness. Holy Spirit, invite me to walk with you in humility, now and forever. Amen.

The Eight Days of Prayer for Peace and Justice is an initiative of the Racial Justice Task Force that runs from Nov. 1 to Nov. 8 (Election Day). We intercede for our nation and our communities during this time of political uncertainty. We thank you for praying with us, and for sharing these prayers with others.

Holly, Berries, and Evergreens Needed

Do you have holly, berries and evergreens growing in your yard? The Fair sells bunches at the Fair every year and we sell out!

You can help by clipping yours on Friday, November 11 (the day before the Fair) and dropping them on the worktables set up outside the back door of the cathedral. Volunteers will be clipping and arranging into bunches, wrapping and pricing for the Fair. Your help keeps a Fair tradition going and is a great, cost-free way to contribute to the Fair. Thank you so much!
