From Bishop Jim Adams
Stacey and I will be making our yearly trip to upstate New York the first week in August. We will be away from All Saints the first 3 Sundays in August but we will be returning on the 25th. Fr. Wilson Roane will be with you on the first 3 Sundays and he is known to many of you at All Saints. Stacey and I have made this pilgrimage to St. Mary’s Convent in Greenwich, New York for over 10 years. (That is pronounced with a long E for "green-wich" to distinguish them from the Connecticut town of the same spelling.) The Convent is in the Diocese of Albany, next to the wonderful spirituality center in the diocese. From the Convent one can see clearly the Green Mountains in Vermont.

I celebrate the Liturgy with them daily and Stacey and I help where we are able, usually with the gardening and canning since they grow much of the food they eat. They also raise cashmere sheep. They shear, clean, pull and spin the cashmere wool and sell it along with items made from the wool. It is usually a little cooler there than in Wisconsin. But, maybe not this year. Blessings to all and I pray I see you Sunday before we take our break. If not, see you late August to continue our journey together in Christ.
From the Youth Minister, Erin Wolf
Family Fun Nights:  Join us TONIGHT from 5:30-7:30pm at All Saints for our second Family Fun Night—Parade & Ice Cream! We will gather at the Drew Street entrance (or Kemper Hall if rainy). If you can’t join us this time, there are two more opportunities to get in on the fun (see below). Questions? Contact Erin at asygappleton@gmail.com .

August 7: Movie Night (Youth Room or Kemper Hall, depending on group size)
August 21: End of Summer Party & Blessing of the Backpacks (North Lawn or Kemper Hall)

From Parish Treasurer Alicia Bayambang
Hello Friends in Christ,

We are already half-way through 2019 and still thriving. Overall, finances are stable and the future is looking positive. Thank you for your continued faith in the church and our mission. Please find below the June financial reports. We continue to cover all of our expenses with contributions due to not having a full-time rector. Year-to-date, All Saints has a net profit of $3,011.16. We successfully transitioned to the new payroll provider in early July and are on our way to more cost savings. We earned $1,228.55 in credit card rewards YTD by shifting how we pay our bills. Also, this month we purchased a new hot water heater and 3-year subscription to back-up software.

As you are traveling and spending time with God in nature, don't forget you can still give your pledge on PayPal at the "donate" button on the church website https://www.allsaintsappleton.org .

When I think about how my contributions are used at All Saints, it is easy to focus on the business side of the ins and outs of money. These past few months have taught me what a difference All Saints makes in people's lives. These differences are a result of your kind contributions to carry out God's work. My husband and I were touched by the shut-in gift of a small pink teddy bear, my father sits with a prayer shawl from All Saints daily, I enjoyed the sounds of children giggling and running at the family fun night when I was at the church for a business meeting, and love seeing the beautiful flowers around the inside and outside of the church. How has God touched you through All Saints?

Secretary On Vacation
Emily Gilbert will be on vacation July 27-August 11 . The parish office will be staffed by volunteers during the usual office hours (9am-12pm Mon-Fri). Many thanks to Pat Tilman and Erin Wolf for their assistance!
Parish Directory Updates
A list of updates to the February 2019 parish directory is available at the back of the church and in the office. Please pick one up!
Cool Drinks & Coloring
We’re in need of a few families and/or parishioners to help keep the Cool Drinks & Coloring outreach ministry running on Saturday mornings during the Downtown Appleton Farmer's Market. Coloring and treats are usually set up from 9:00am-12:30pm (times are flexible depending on availability) outside the Drew St. entrance. It’s a great way to greet people in our communities and talk with them about All Saints. Please sign up on the bulletin board if you're interested in helping!
Ice Cream Social - July 24
Our second Family Fun Night will take place TONIGHT from 5:30-7:30pm . We will be gathering to serve ice cream and cool treats to community members before, during, and after the Downtown Appleton Children's Parade. The parade starts at 6:00pm, and set-up begins at 5:30pm at the Drew Street entrance. If the parade is canceled due to inclement weather, fear not! We will still gather in Kemper Hall for an ice cream social. Please  contact Erin Wolf if you plan to help/attend. This is an excellent outreach opportunity for All Saints to connect with members of our community!

Diocesan & Community Events
Art at the Park - July 28
On Sunday, July 28 , Art at the Park will be held in City Park from 9am-4pm . The streets around City Park will be closed, and parking may be limited. Please take this into account when driving to church on Sunday.

Opportunities to Serve
Grass Cutting & Lawn Care
Thank you to all who helped with our lawn care in 2018. Like last year, we will be doing a rotation of volunteers (much like we do with lay servers for worship services) to take care of those chores. We will again have a weekly rotation to include mowing the lawn and using the weed eater. This will be no more than 1 to 1 1/2 hours of time. Our property is large but our lawn isn't. I will make sure that we have all of the equipment in good working order and that there is fuel for both lawn mower and weed trimmer.

Please contact the church office or me ( Chris Laswell ) directly if you would be interested in helping with this project. As always, more hands make less work for all. Thank you, in advance, for your help and consideration.

Blessings,
Chris Laswell - Jr. Warden
Vestry Clerk
All Saints is still in need of a new Clerk of the Vestry. This is a volunteer position that requires attending all vestry meetings, which are usually held after the 10am service on the 3rd Sunday of the month, and taking minutes which are later distributed to the vestry. The clerk does not vote on vestry decisions. If you'd like to serve in this role, please contact  Senior Warden Rob Anderson .
