Nori's graduation message
As I was walking Rubi down our street last week, I noticed a banner in the front yard of a house a few doors down from mine. It announced that a proud Doherty High School 2020 graduate lived there. I don't know this family; I've waved at the teenager in the past as I drove by. But I decided to get him an Amazon gift card and put in in a graduation card. I wrote the following note to him, and adapted it for this article
Graduation address for the Class of 2020

all souls cares
We are accepting Thank You cards for health care workers around Colorado Springs. To deliver your card, just drop it into the mail slot on the front door of our church. We'll be collecting through 5/17 and giving the cards to our amazing health care workers during the month of May. Kids and adults are encouraged to show your support with a simple card of thanks!
annual All Souls plant sale (virtual plant sale)
The Virtual Plant Sale to benefit All Souls is just around the corner! Those of you who have donations to contribute should plan to get them to Suset by the end of this week, Friday, May 22nd. She will need to photograph and create descriptions of each plant so it would be good for her to have plenty of time to complete this task. Plants may be dropped off at Suset's house any time, front porch at 1215 West Kiowa Street (in the Westside by Old Colorado City). Be sure and text her at (719) 243-1268 or message her on her Facebook page to give her a head's up. Please remember to include the name and growth requirements for your donation if you can.
The sale will start on Sunday, May 24th at 8:00 am and run continuously until 8:00 pm on Sunday, May 31st. Plants may be viewed
. The website allows for payment with credit or debit cards. Checks and cash may be dropped off at Suset's home when you pick up your purchased plants. Please have the cash and checks in an envelope with pertinent info printed on the outside. All sales are final. If you are hesitant to venture out, there will be a delivery service provided for the small fee of $3.50 (cash only for the delivery person). Delivery must be within Colorado Springs or Manitou Springs city limits.
Plan to view the website and select your plants! The prices are very reasonable and with the pandemic, gardening stores have seen a huge increase in sales. Hence, plants are in greater demand than in previous summers. Your yard and your soul will both be nourished with new plants to brighten your home.
For more information, email email@example.com or contact Suset at (719) 243-1268.

RE appreciation day
Please join us on Sunday, May 31st during our 10:30 service for a special RE Appreciation Presentation! We'll be honoring our RE teachers as well as our RE kids. There will be many photos shared from our year together and special honorary mentions for kids moving into middle and high school. We'd love to see everyone who's joined in RE to come to this special time during service.
Our RE kids, grades K-6th, are invited to join us every Sunday morning following service for a virtual 30-minute RE zoom (e-RE)! Each week we bring in time to share, reflect, create, and dance! Click on this **new zoom link** https://zoom.us/j/92857880405 to join in the fun 11:30am-12pm. Please contact Beth Green at DRE@asuuc.net with any questions.
We had 11 kids participate in this artwork we're calling, "Together While Apart." Each child colored 2 puzzle pieces, not knowing what the design was. All pieces were mailed back to Beth Green and assembled to reveal this amazing work! THANK YOU to our amazing, creative kids and a big thanks to their parents as well!!
In keeping with summer tradition, Youth Group will be on hiatus during the summer, but kids are always welcome to join in RE. Since this summer is a bit different than past years, we will be continuing the curriculum in e-RE through the month of June and start our summer program in July. This year we are holding "Summer Story-Time" through Zoom. Details of this summer program will be rolled out in our service on May 31st. Stay tuned for details!

5/24 - the door of courage
This week we will explore the threshold of courage to go into the unknown. In honor of Memorial Day, we remember the service men and women who lost their lives. We also remember all of those who crossed the threshold of the Door of Courage, and those families who had to live with the unknown. Join us to explore the threshold through songs and activities as well as have a chat with a veteran.
The weekly PWR Monday afternoon Zoom calls will be taking a short break to consult with the youth boards and craft fresh and innovative offerings. More soon on those changes!

free medical care & prescriptions
People sometimes face the starkchoice between food and medicine.
As costs of prescription drugs continue to rise and the numbers of uninsured continue to rise, providing a source for life-saving prescription drugs becomes critical. In Colorado's El Paso & Teller Counties, Open Bible Medical Clinic & Pharmacy also serves as a Community Pharmacy dispensing free prescription medication to our neighbors who are uninsured. Residents of the county can qualify for our services if they are at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. 10am-2pm every Thursday and 9am-1pm every Saturday.
