leading causes of life! 12/30-1/27
As we joyfully celebrate the returning of the Sun and the lengthening days and look to a new year of possibilities, this is a season of saying "yes" to life. This is a season of noticing the flourishing and abundant life all around us. This we do instead of focusing on what isn't working.
Saying "yes" to life in offers us the opportunity to see the assets that create possibility and that create new ways of flourishing together in this world. Over the next five weeks we will explore the leading causes of life and how we can see yes to them.

12/30 ~ healing power of connection
Join us as we celebrate our annual Stone Soup Sunday. Minister Emerita, Rev. Dr. Ellen Johnson-Fay, will bring us an inspiring message of how community creates life in this first Sunday of our theme, Leading Causes of Life. Everyone is invited to bring something to share in a meal following the service. We will also be having Stone Soup!

Have you introduced all of the GAYT "guests" to your family or friends? Guest at Your Table is an annual intergenerational program sponsored by the UUSC to raise support for and awareness about key human rights issues. This year's theme is Justice Across Borders. This program is an opportunity to celebrate grassroots partnership, support human rights, and learn about just four of these individuals - the "guests" in Guest at Your Table. The brochures and collection boxes are available for you at the RE Table so pick one up and help make a difference in the lives of others.

adult sponsor needed for mlk con
We need an adult sponsor (chaperone) to drive and attend this event which is designed for our Front Range high schoolers. It will be held at the First  Unitarian Society of Denver from 5pm on Saturday, 1/19/19, to noon on Monday, 1/21/19, and includes participating in the MLK March and sleeping 2 nights at the church (think indoor camping!). The cost for serving as the adult sponsor will be covered by All Souls, the experience - priceless! Contact Laurie with any questions.

Ongoing, at Colorado Springs Rescue Mission, blankets needed. If you would like to donate a blanket, quilt, comforter or throw, it would be much appreciated at the shelters. Besides individual people donating, a sewing or needlework group could also help. Sometimes the shelter sends along a blanket when a homeless person leaves, and they are also given out to those turned away due to lack of bed space. if you have a heart to help a person be warm, please consider donating a new or gently used blanket.

The Rescue Mission has a donation warehouse one block west of their campus at 111 West Las Vegas Street. Suggested times are weekdays from 9:30am-4:30pm and Saturday from 9-11am. The Salvation Army accepts donations at their R.J. Montgomery Center, 709 South Sierra Madre Street, near Cimarron, behind the power plant. Best time to donate there is 9am-12pm on weekdays.

Ongoing until 12/31,  A Cozy Evening At Home Year-End Fundraising Event. Hosted by The Resource Exchange (TRE). You're invited to enjoy a night at home with your family! TRE is giving you the gift of a cozy evening at home, instead of asking you to attend yet another event this holiday season! No fancy clothes, no expensive tickets and no slogging through the cold and snow! Instead, would you consider making a year-end investment in The Resource Exchange? A contribution to TRE will transform life experiences for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Autism, Down syndrome and cerebral palsy are examples of IDD. The best part is 100% of your tax deductible donation will go directly to TRE programs! Click here to donate now!
