"Commit your way to the LORD; trust in Him, and He will act."
~Psalm 37:5

Every gift to the ELCA Fund makes a difference, no matter the amount. Help us reach our goal of 100% parent participation for the 2021-2022 school year! Eagle's Landing Christian Academy relies on charitable gifts above tuition and fees to fund our mission of Empowering Students to Impact the World for Christ.
When you give to the ELCA Fund, it helps us receive further grants and donations from outside foundations and organizations. It shows to our community that our parents are 100% invested in our mission. Also, ELCA is 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and gifts to the school are tax-deductible as provided by law.

ELCA sent a team of 44 on a mission trip out west during Winter Break. The team worked with the Navajo Indian community in Gallup, NM and the The Hub in Las Vegas, Nevada. While in Gallup, they worked within a local ACSI school, with an Episcopalian ministry that distributes food, with a local church plant delivering care-packages, with local missionaries visiting homes and praying for the families, with the Navajo Nation Radio Station providing worship music and testimonies, with a drug rehab center sharing testimonies, with a local Hispanic church sharing in worship, and with the FBC of Gallup leading in worship. While in Las Vegas, the team worked with a ministry targeting homelessness, sex-trafficking, and faster care. The students engaged in evangelism, respite care, education and more.
The 11-day trip culminated with a short visit to the Grand Canyon National Park and an opportunity to tour the South Rim.

The Mission: Keep Your Egg Safe
|
|
The Introduction to Physics class completed a project lab where students were tasked with building a cart to protect an egg in a collision. The students received three pieces of paper, two axels, 4 wheels, and a plastic straw as materials. These materials were provided to our students through the ALPLA grant awarded to ELCA STEAM classes over the summer. The cars were raced for speed trials on the first day and then crashed into the wall with the ‘egg passenger’ on the second day. The engineering design cycle was used by all partners as they incorporated safety features to dissipate the energy transferred to the egg during the crash. Most of the teams were able to design cars that did not injure the egg, and the students enjoyed using their knowledge of momentum, Newton’s Laws of Motion, acceleration, velocity, force, and energy transformation.
Winners for the head-to-head races were as follows:
1st place: Michael Clark and Ajai Flagg
2nd place: Jacque Holley and Hunter Basko
3rd place: Christian White and Alberto Sanchez

A huge congratulations to both Jesse and Molly Corso for their performances at the Classic Center in Athens, Georgia in the GMEA All-State Band. They auditioned, were selected, and performed among the best students in the entire state. They both played WONDERFULLY and represented themselves and ELCA well. Both Jesse and Molly were also selected for All-State Band last year, but the performance was canceled due to COVID. We are so glad their hard work was rewarded again this year and that they had the opportunity to perform in Athens! Thank you both for your hard work and dedication!
