Founders Hall, built for St. Michael's College in 1904, was the institution's first building.
Over the years, the structure began to fail. The building could not be retrofitted up to safety, structural and energy efficiency codes, and asbestos was discovered in the sub-flooring tiles.
A few years ago, it was determined that any rehabilitation efforts would be too costly, and a decision was made to dismantle the building.
Casella Construction was chosen to perform the demolition, and we have already begun preliminary work on the project.
