Sonoma County Maternal Child and Adolescent Health is dedicated to promoting physical, social, and emotional health and well-being for pregnant persons, children, adolescents, and their families through information, education, and resources. For LGBTQ+ Families

Family Planning and Birth Control:


Every woman, and person who may become pregnant, should have the support of a trusted healthcare provider to create a Reproductive Life Plan about when she/they want to become pregnant and have (or not have) children.

The Office of the California Surgeon General believes education is the foundation for a healthy reproductive life. We inform and empower individuals about contraception, abortion, and reproductive rights.

Breast/chestfeeding:


For optimal health of both baby and mom, infants should be fed only human milk for the first 6 months after birth whenever possible.
