Twin Creeks Opens New Outdoor Stage & Pavillion
Twin Creeks Brewing Company celebrated the grand opening of their Creekbank Pavilion and outdoor stage! This addition to the backside of their downtown Vinton location includes an updated seating area with picnic tables, gas fire pits, and a new outdoor music venue!

New Multigenerational Park in Vinton
The Town of Vinton has received a $218,295 grant from the Virginia Outdoors Foundation to help develop a multigenerational park at the former pool site behind the Vinton War Memorial. The proposed project will include a playground, picnic shelter, and a planting and seating wall, along with pickleball courts and a half basketball court. Learn More Here
Cleveland Mart Redevelopment Project Kicks Off

The redevelopment of the former Cleveland Mart on E. Cleveland Avenue has officially begun. Developers have removed the blighted structures but will keep the Cleveland Mart building and renovate it into at least six new apartments and a small commercial space. Investment into these properties will help revitalize our community as a whole and open new opportunities for Vinton. Learn More Here

Demolition Resumes on Fire Affected Buildings

Contractors have nearly completed demolition on the downtown buildings affected by the 2022 fire. The S. Pollard fronting buildings were the target of this phase and required specialized engineering. This demolition project has had challenges due to shared walls between buildings. Contractors are also attempting to salvage the former Red Jasmine building with a new restaurant tenant planning to utilize the space. S. Pollard Street has reopened and E. Lee Avenue is expected to reopen in the next few days. Stay tuned for updates on construction of the new buildings.
Infrastructure Improvements
  • E. Cleveland Avenue has been fully paved following the completion of the water line replacement project
  • Walnut Avenue Phase 1 & Phase 2 improvements continue
  • Glade Creek Greenway Phase 2b improvements continue

Additional Community News
Exciting news from the Roanoke Valley Resource Authority (RVRA). The RVRA has announced a partnership with Archaea Energy to recycle emissions from the Smith Gap Regional Landfill into Renewable Natural Gas (RNG). This project will help improve air quality in the Roanoke Valley and recycle methane and other naturally occurring gases into pipeline-quality RNG. Read More Here
