Submit Your PSU Application Now!

Produce Safety University (PSU) is an all-expenses-paid experiential learning program offered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) that immerses child nutrition professionals in the fresh produce supply chain and provides them with tools and knowledge to address real-life scenarios, critically analyze and respond to food safety issues, and teach others critical produce safety concepts and practices. Participants learn to identify and manage food safety risks associated with fresh produce, whether purchased from farmers or distributors, received whole or fresh-cut, or grown in a school garden.

On behalf of FNS, the Institute of Child Nutrition (ICN) invites you to submit your nomination for the 2023 PSU program, which includes five sessions offered both virtually and in person during February, March, April, and May.

Participants will be considered based on their active role in training school nutrition staff at the district level and/or produce procurement responsibilities. Participants will be expected and encouraged to teach others about produce safety using the training materials provided through PSU.

To be considered for selection, each nominee is required to submit an electronic nomination form by December 9, 2022.

If you have any questions, please contact the PSU team at producesafetyuniversity@usda.gov
