UWLC Annual Meeting & Campaign Kickoff Highlights $1.5 Million Community Investment

At our Annual Meeting and 2026–2027 Campaign Kickoff, we reflected on the impact your support made possible over the past year and looked ahead to the work still to come. Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, donors, volunteers, and community partners, we invested more than $1.5 million into programs and initiatives that address Lake County's most pressing needs. We also recognized outstanding volunteers, community leaders, Campaign Pacesetters, and Community Impact Champions whose support helps strengthen local health, education, and financial stability efforts. Together, we are creating lasting change throughout our community.

Leadership isn't just about serving in the boardroom. Maria regularly visits us from her office next store to spend her lunch hour sorting and folding clothing donations for our community's Back-to-School Bash, rolling up her sleeves to help local families prepare for the school year.

Hunger Heroes

Component Repair Technologies

Employees of Component Repair Technologies donated more than 3 tons of food this month—enough to provide an estimated 5,025 meals to Lake County residents facing hunger. The effort was driven by friendly competitions between departments, turning generosity into action.

Quota Club of Lake County

We are very grateful to Quota Club of Lake County and President Cathy Zeller for presenting us with a $1,000 check for the purchase of new socks and underwear for the clothing drive we are running for our community's Back-to-School Bash for children in need.

A Floral Design & Firelight Sunset Social by the Lake

Join Women United of United Way of Lake County as they gather for an evening of floral design & firelight at Painesville Township Park, where guests will each create a beautiful floral arrangement while enjoying s'mores by the fire and a stunning summer sunset over the shores of Lake Erie. Back-to-School Bash Clothing Drive

We are running a clothing drive in support of our community's Back-to-School Bash (BTSB) on August 1. The BTSB provides Lake County families in need with free school supplies, clothing, and a variety of supportive services to help students start the school year prepared and confident. We are currently seeking donations of new socks and underwear, and new and gently used clothing and outerwear in all sizes for children ages 0–18. We are always looking for volunteers and hope you will consider serving. From our food pantry to our Back-to-School Bash clothing drive, and more, there are many ways to get involved. Explore current opportunities here.

Will You Help Fill Our Year-Round Food Pantry?


We accept donations of non-perishable food year-round to help stock our pantry in support of the 40 local food banks we help serve. We invite you or your organization to host a food drive or to make a donation to our food fund. For materials, including a list of our most needed items, contact David Whittaker at dwhittaker@uwlc.org or 440-639-1203. Donations may be dropped off at our office at 9285 Progress Parkway in Mentor, Monday through Thursday, 8:30 am–5:00 pm, or Friday, 8:30 am–Noon.

Workplace Campaign: Can We Count You In?



One of the most impactful ways to give back is by running a workplace campaign in support of our mission. We start each campaign with a zero balance and rely on the kindness of our local community to help us help others. All funds raised in Lake County stay in Lake County, helping our own friends and neighbors in need. Interested in running a campaign?
