Adult Discussion Group

Beginning this Sunday, for about six weeks, we’ll look at what it means to live a Christian life, exploring topics about prayer, faith, love, and contemplation. What do Jesus and Paul say about these?  On November 3rd and 10th Pastor Jeff will lead our discussions about Prayer. 


For this Sunday, come prepared to discuss the challenges you face and the questions you have about living a Christian life.

Faith Formation News!

In response to interest and requests from parents in our congregation, this fall we are offering a Faith Formation opportunity for children up to and including 4th graders during part of our 10:00 am worship service. Children head to their Faith Formation group right after the scripture reading and before the sermon. The group, led by parents and other adults of the congregation, includes Singing and Signing with Peter Hill, and meets on the second and fourth Sunday's of the month.


Faith Formation groups for Middle School (grades 5-8) and High School (grades 9-12) meet following the 10:00 am worship service from

11:15 am - noon.

The next music group that will be starting up for our new music program season will be the Instrumental Ensemble. If you play an instrument and would like to be part of the Ensemble email Peter Hill, Director of Music Ministries at petepiano@mac.com


The first Suburban Music Study Club to be hosted in Chatham UMC’s sanctuary will be Music For The Holidays on Thursday morning of December 5th at 10:30 AM. The festive program will feature Anne Matlack, organ, Carolyn Enger, piano and Carol Walker, dulcimer. This free recital is open to all; refreshments will be served following the program!

All Saints Day Fundraiser

As a fundraiser for our ministries, the Church Council has decided to invite people to make a donation in memory of loved ones that will be on the 2024 All Saints Day List. Checks can be made payable to the Chatham UMC and marked:

On Sunday, November 3, 2024, we will read the names of each departed loved one, ring a bell and light a candle, whether or not a contribution has been made in their memory. We hope you and your friends can come to worship at 10am on November 3 for this meaningful and holy ritual.

Join us in Craig Chapel (in Seminary Hall, 36 Madison Ave.) as we welcome Brother Emile of Taizé community in France to Drew Theological School

for an evening of conversation about the Taizé ethos of peace building, communal living, and approach to worship.

The conversation will conclude with a service of prayer and worship

in the Taizé tradition.
