South Fairfax Chamber Annual General Membership Meeting April 25th 6:00 - 8:30pm at the Lorton INOVA Healthplex.  A light fare will be served.  BYOB is welcomed.

We are very pleased to be featuring a star-studded lineup of local leaders and a delectable menu of hors d'ouvres presented by SFCC's own Catering by Dana (Dana Polk, owner).  With so much happening in our area of the County these days, we are taking the opportunity to update our members with the various task forces, committees, initiatives and significant developments directly impacting our businesses and our community here in the southern part of Fairfax County where we work and live.  We are particularly looking forward to announcing some new Chamber initiatives with new opportunities capable of benefiting members across all sectors.  The evening is scheduled to get underway with time for mixing and mingling beginning at 6p.m. with our program of speakers and presenters expected to get started by 7p.m.  We hope you'll join us and encourage you to invite a potential member to come with you.  Space/seating is limited at the Healthplex venue, so to assure yourself a seat and to help us plan for the event (and to know how much food to have Dana prepare!), we ask that you please REGISTER HERE as soon as you think you'll be able to attend.

SFCC is celebrating 10 years!  That's right . . . this is a big year for us, and we are starting it off right.  Later this week, we are co-hosting our annual Spring Teen Job Fair at South County High School (free for vendors!) (April 6) and later this month is our Annual SFCC General Membership Meeting (April 25).  Hopefully you have already signed up to participate in the Job Fair this coming Saturday.  If not, we'd love to accommodate last minute requests!  It's a no-cost way to fill all your part-time and seasonal hiring needs and get ahead of the hiring curve for the summer.  You'll find details and a vendor sign-up link below.  Job Fair or no, I hope you will join us in a couple weeks for our Annual Meeting, hosted this year by the Lorton INOVA Healthplex.  See below for date and time details.
Lately, my colleague SFCC Vice Chairman Peter Weyland ( Look.net) has been excitedly pointing to what he describes as our growing "momentum!"  I couldn't agree more.  It is exciting -- for both new and longtime SFCC members alike.  As I see it, our momentum is being fueled by an energized and enthusiastic Board, a recent wave of new SFCC members, and a renewed interest in and focus on growth and future development here in south Fairfax County.  So, on behalf of the entire Board of Directors, I extend a personal invitation to each of you to join us at an upcoming event; urge everyone to follow us and spread the word on social media (we are communicating these days via Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn in addition to our emails and webpage announcements); and encourage longtime members especially to re-discover and re-engage with your Chamber.  Use of our new community calendar is catching on, and traffic to the website continues to increase as we continue to develop and promote our "Virtual Gateway to South Fairfax County" concept.  If you've not done so recently, check out THE NEW ON-LINE LOOK FOR SFCC and the offerings now available.  At the very least, check to assure that your own Chamber page looks and does what you want it to do.  Our provider, Chamber Nation, created basic pages for our members and can help you optimize your page, at no additional cost to you as a Chamber member!  So help us help you realize and maximize your Chamber benefits.
Lastly for now, if you're not seeing something that interests you that you'd like to see us provide, please don't hesitate to reach out to me or any member of the Board to suggest particular activities or offerings.  And by all means, allow yourself to get caught up in the moment!  Feel free to jump in and share some of that enthusiasm and organizational talent to help us all realize more of that "ROI" you hear me keep talking about!
