SFCC NEWSLETTER / May 2019
CHAIRMAN'S NOTE

What an April! Teen Job Fair at SCHS, T3 at Alli's Restaurant, SCHS Baseball's "first pitch" Chamber recognition game night, and, to top things off, our annual membership event. We had a great crowd turn out for the membership meeting last week. Our thanks again to the Lorton Inova Healthplex for hosting us; Dana Polk of Dana's Catering, for her delectable offerings; our many prize contributors (Laurel Hill Golf Club, Pat Beagle of Wealthcrest Financial Services, LLC, Workhouse Arts Center and myself; and all of our speakers/presenters (Linda Patterson of the Lorton Community Action Center, Donita Hines of the Lorton Volunteer Fire Department, and Doug Kay, of Offit Kurman, Chaiman of the Fairfax County Police Review Panel. Thanks as well, to Supervisor Storck and his office for making available the many maps and renderings we had around the room. We are working on confirming our T3 location for later this month.  We have some availability as well if you might be interested in hosting the Chamber later in the year. Watch for announcements of upcoming opportunities with multiple Independence Day and other Summer activities! In the meantime, consider getting out and taking in some great local shows including, in the next month alone, some musical theater performances, dancing, a ballet, and a comedy superstar.  See our community calendar below for more details.
