February News & Events

February is here—and so is Heart Health Month, which feels extra fitting for a community built on movement, connection, and taking care of ourselves (inside and out).

At GVO, we believe a strong heart comes from more than just cardio. It’s about showing up, breathing deeply, moving your body, allowing for stretch and recovery and surrounding yourself with people who lift you up! This month is full of opportunities to do just that.

From our First Friday to special events for kids and high school teens to an exclusive GVO Galentine’s shopping soirée at Blu Violet Boutique, February brings community events, surprises, and collaborations we’re excited to share with you!

As always, thank you for being here, for choosing yourself, and for being part of the GVO family. Let’s keep moving, connecting, and taking care of our hearts together, this month and always.

With so much love and gratitude, Kristen đź’–

What's New on the Schedule

We have some exciting additions and beloved favorites on the schedule!

  • Back by popular demand: Yin Yoga & Meditation with Jen on Tuesdays at 6:30 PM
  • New at Zen! Start your Mondays strong with Hatha Yoga at 6:30 AM with Dani, our newest GVO instructor. You might have had the pleasure of enjoying his sound bath during our December First Friday Class!
  • MORE ENERGIZING SPIN: Bella's new class is Wednesdays at 5:30pm at RPM
  • Get your sweat on with Hot Power Vinyasa on Tuesdays & Fridays at 4:15 PM with Keri
  • Unwind and reset with Melt: Reconnect & Restore with Mary on 2/24 at 5:30 PM - a nourishing 60-minute MELT Method session focused on restoring fascia flow, unwinding linegering tension, restroring movement and settling the nervous system

What is Hatha Yoga, You Ask?

If Vinyasa is the flow, Hatha is the pause. This calm, grounding practice moves more slowly, holding postures longer to focus on breath, alignment, and strength. It’s accessible for all levels and perfect for anyone looking to feel centered, steady, and refreshed—both on and off the mat. With plenty of time to explore each pose, it’s a great choice for beginners or anyone craving a slower, more mindful practice.

Strong Flows, Good Vibes: February Member Spotlight

This month’s Member Spotlight goes to Mike Colan. Mike proves that GVO isn’t just a “girls’ club,” but a space where everyone belongs. Whether he’s flowing, sweating, or just bringing solid energy to class, Mike helps keep the vibes balanced, strong, and inclusive. We love having him as part of our community!

Stretching Isn’t the Same as Recovery (Here’s What Is)

We love a good stretch—but real recovery happens deeper, at the cellular level. If you’re leaving class sore (or feeling it the next day), try this simple recovery checklist our instructors swear by:

  • Hydrate smarter: Water is great, electrolytes are better. A pinch of salt (or a yummy LMNT) goes a long way.
  • Refuel within 60 minutes: Carbs + protein help muscles repair and rebuild.
  • Magnesium before bed: About 400mg of magnesium glycinate can support better sleep and recovery.
  • Next-morning flow: Just 5 minutes of gentle mobility before coffee can make a big difference.

👉 Don’t try to do it all—pick one habit to focus on this week and build from there.

We just restocked LMNT—and yes, there are new flavors to love. Perfect for staying hydrated before class, after class, or anytime you need a salty boost without the sugar. Grab one next time you’re in and sip your way to better workouts.
