ISD Board Meeting

The Board of Directors meet on the first Sunday of every month, via Zoom. The Board of Directors is the governing body for the Institute for Spiritual Development in Oneonta. All major decisions will need to be ratified by the Board. New policies are reviewed and set, the treasurer's report is reviewed and financial decisions are voted upon. The board determines the direction that ISD takes, and plans for its future. If you have some ideas you would like discussed, you are welcome to email Kimberly Winsor, the President of the Board, to see if it can be added to the Board Agenda. Visitors are welcome to attend and observe, but do not have the privilege of voting. There will be a time for public commentary, if you are not on the agenda.

Participants will learn how to grasp, understand and utilize the tremendous power of the Principles. The course also provides a basic understanding of all metaphysics and metaphysical thought.

We will at long last link together with all of those we have only seen on zoom for the past year! Yahoo! The Lotus Center is now located at 124 County Rd 58 (Hemlock Rd.), Oneonta, at the home of Tom Landon. Please let Tom know if you plan to drop in! Enjoy Casual conversation with fellow members and friends of ISD Oneonta. In the warm weather we will be poolside! Bring a dish to pass if possible, but don’t worry if you don’t have one- we just want to SEE you!
Peruse the ISD Members’ library, choose to take out a book on an array of metaphysical topics, including dream interpretation, channeled guides to life, dealing with loss, and much more.
We also have a set alone Edgar Cayce collection with more than 50 books written by Edgar Cayce, his son, Hugh Lynn Cayce, and many interpretations and commentaries from other authors.

Just a reminder that we are continuing our Prayer Warriors group, every day at 5pm we pause to pray and send our healing energies where they are most needed right now
Each day at 5 PM EST, we will pause for about 10 minutes and meditate and pray with the intention of sending healing energy to all.

Malala Fund

ISD Oneonta members, under the leadership of Kimberly Winsor and Ally Sutton-Pyle, have challenged ourselves during the holiday season with a fundraising goal of $500 to go to the Malala Fund, a charity that is raising funds for girls to be able to go to school, a privilege that is either banned or financially out of reach in many countries. The Malala Fund is an international, non-profit organization that advocates for girls' education. It was co-founded by Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani activist for female education and the youngest Nobel Prize laureate, and her father, Ziauddin. Read more on Wikipedia. ASTROLOGY FORECAST (Feb 1 - 8)
A magical date has arrived! Feb 1st - Celtic Imbolc - This marks the halfway point between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox. The Sun grows in strength and duration with each passing day.
A few days remain to view Comet C/2022 E3 (Z.T.F.) By the time this is printed the comet will be in the constellation Camelopardalis (barely any visible stars. It looks like an empty space just beyond the Little Dipper), heading toward the star Capella in constellation Auriga. Binoculars will increase your chance of seeing it. I will pass on a message that I received regarding the comet in ISD circle this week:
"My green coma is to invite your healing and assist you with helpful energies from deep space. The green energy can apply to healing, embracing shadows, and for abundance.
My tail is symbolic of transformation to another form or expression through the application of the Sun's heat. My tail transforms and leaves the system changed. I leave remnants in your system to assist you long after I have departed.
My path is not nearly so random as you might assume. I have been traveling space for eons of your time to arrive at this appointed hour. Your hour of transformative history. I bring you greetings and wisdom from "the neighborhood." (This last word was delivered with a gentle, ironic smile, since it has a 50,000 year orbit.)
The personality that delivered this message was androgynous, very friendly and benevolent.
The first change in pattern this week is Ceres beginning retrograde motion in Libra on 2/02, lasting until 5/06. Ceres is the largest asteroid in the belt between Mars and Jupiter. She is associated with motherhood, agriculture, and nurturing. In Libra retrograde the tendency for issues around lack may arise, resulting in hoarding and an "us-vs- them" mentality. You may feel a lack of support. If any of these feelings should arise in you, the challenge will be to remember your sovereignty. All you need may be accessed from inside of you. Remember your God cell and your Heart Center. Trust and believe in the greater good and abundance in all things, as much as you can. Resist the tendency to look outward and conclude that anything outside yourself is denying you what you are seeking. Look within for your birthright.
The Full Moon is on Feb 5th in Leo at 1:29 pm EST. There is a T-square between the Sun in Aquarius, the Moon opposite in Leo, and Uranus in Taurus, which is directly on the Cosmic Point of Avatar. This forms a right triangle with Uranus on the apex point. Vast new energies will pour in from the Cosmos, through the Uranus apex point on the Taurus Point of Avatar, beginning a most transformative year. Flow and Grace are the currency of the realm for the coming changes.
This is on a Sunday, which is ruled by the Sun, and the Moon is in Leo, also ruled by the Sun. The positive aspect of a Leo moon is great love, generosity, kindness, and enthusiasm. The BEST expression of Solar power in Leo is great dignity and leadership capabilities. On this night you might look to the Moon and invoke the best expression of this nobility in yourself. How can you best shine the light in your unique way to help illuminate the world for everyone's benefit? It need not be monumental. Small gestures add up.
VENUS is shining her beautiful bright light down on us as our Evening Star in the west as darkness descends. She is exalted in Pisces for this Full Moon. NEPTUNE remains in Pisces, the sign of its rulership as well. We have a nice mix of planets in signs where they express their best attributes. This gives us good reason for optimism.
VESTA, an asteroid in the belt between Mars and Jupiter, moves into Aries on Feb 7th, staying through Apr 15th. Vesta signifies the location of the sacred in your chart. She can be thought of as your "eternal flame." She is evocative of commitment, missions, fidelity, independence, and new ventures. Aries is a very enthusiastic fire sign. Vesta can contribute purity to all that fire energy.
We are already in the penumbra leading to the massive changes beginning in March via sign changes for Saturn and Pluto. The momentum is building toward a new paradigm that includes the greatest good for all beings. May it help you find your Godspeed.
