Keeping Downtown Beautiful!

As part of Downtown Indiana’s ongoing efforts to keep our historic business district an attractive place to work, shop, dine and visit, we are introducing the Adopt-A-Block program. We are asking local businesses, civic groups and nonprofits to choose a block downtown and commit to helping once-a-quarter with picking up litter and debris.

We will begin with the 500, 600, 700, 800 & 900 blocks of Philadelphia Street and North 7 th Street from Philadelphia to Nixon (IRMC Park). We are asking businesses to adopt one or both side(s) of the street in each of these blocks and make a year-long commitment. Then, each quarter we ask that you provide volunteers to help with clean up efforts as coordinated with Downtown Indiana.

We will recognize those businesses and organizations who participate with signage in the downtown area, on our website, in our newsletter and on social media. And you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you and your employees are supporting the ideal of a beautiful, vibrant downtown.

If you would like to Adopt -A-Block, please contact the Downtown Indiana Office at 724-463-6110 or linda@downtownindiana.org .

Please note that this is meant to be an auxiliary effort and that downtown business owners will still be responsible for maintenance as outlined by Borough of Indiana ordinances.

In addtion, we are seeking sponsors for the flower baskets on the downtown lamp posts. Each basket can be sponsored for $50 and sponsors will be recognized by Downtown Indiana. To sponsor a flower basket, please complete this form and return to Downtown Indiana.
