Postcard Play Date

Join us at a Postcard Play Date and learn how to make fabric postcards for the quilt show! As one of our most successful fundraisers at Georgia Celebrates Quilts, this fundraiser is one of the most visited areas in our show! Holly Lightfoot-Sheehan is hosting two Postcard Play Dates for new and experienced postcard makers. These fast little projects are fun! We provide the postcard backs and fun embellishments and you provide the scraps. If you need batting, interesting trims or instructions, come by the Postcards table at the meetings.

Holly has scheduled two Postcard Play Dates so far. Our first Play Date will be on Sunday, July 20th at Stitched on Roswell Road. The location and supply list are on the signup.

Sign up for the July 20, Postcard Playdate HERE. Only a few spots remain!

If the July date is full, sign up for the September Play Date at Tiny Stitches on East Piedmont Road. Our next Postcard Play Date will be on Sunday, September 14 at Tiny Stitches.

Sign up for the September 14, Postcard Playdate HERE.

There are 20 spots.

Block Party

Thanks to everyone who helped us send out the Block Party cards to the local quilt shops. We were able to save a substantial amount of postage by sending around half of the packets out with your smiling faces! Thanks to Caroline Benefield for designing the cards and to Kathie Champ and Teresa Kent, who made sure the cards were ready to send at the June meeting. We mailed 23 more packets, costing around $90. We will ask for your help again when it's time to distribute the next rounds of printed notices!

– thank you so very much!

Raffle Quilt

A HUGE THANK YOU to all who completed blocks for our raffle quilt. All our blocks were adopted speedily and 99.5% were returned and the work(wo)manship was top notch. We didn't remake any blocks due to quality issues. Not a single one. And you followed our instructions closely. We're extremely grateful for your help and for the excellence of your piecing!

The Raffle Team

Andrea, Laura, Rebecca, Sally, Devon, Melinda

Mark your calendars for the guild meetings on October 30 and 31 for the Raffle Quilt reveal. The evening meeting members will see it first! Many thanks to Andrea Barrett, Sally Joerger, Devon Pfeif and Melinda Rushing for organizing the distribution at the meetings.

Quilt Store

Have you ever wanted to sell a quilt or quilted item such as a set of placemats, handbag or table runner? You have an opportunity at the Quilt Store during Georgia Celebrates Quilts.

We accept donations of saleable quilts and quilted items beginning in May, as well as commission quilts. If you are willing to donate your items instead of selling them on commission, the proceeds go to the guild. More information will be coming from Leigh Ann Kloefkorn, Quilt Store Chair.
