Thank you to the many members who picked up a Raffle Quilt Block Kit at the May meetings! It’s encouraging that all of the block kits found a temporary home and will be completed soon!
Please return your completed block with paper intact in the numbered envelope at either of the June meetings. The production committee will trim the block and remove the paper. If you have a block kit and aren’t able to attend either meeting, reach out to Andrea Barrett or Linda Agnello before the June meetings and we’ll be glad to accept it at your convenience.
For those needing clarification on the block kit process, Andrea Barrett, our RQ Production Chair, provides the following info:
We’ve had several really good questions about color placement for your raffle quilt blocks, especially regarding blocks that have multiple cream/white/beige patches but also a few others.
First, thanks for asking and please don’t stress about this.
- If your question is about placement of the neutral colors, you may place them in whatever way appeals to you. We are building background with these colors, and some level of randomness is going to be fine.
- If your question is about non-neutral colors, some of the confusion may arise from the fact that the inkjet printer had a really hard time printing all 24+ shades in this quilt distinctly. Please put a warm color wherever there is a warm color in your diagram and a cool color wherever there is a cool one. If there is an obvious difference in value (dark vs. light) in your diagram, please use that for guidance. If not, you may place the patches in whatever way appeals to you.

Remember the Raffle Quilt is top secret – don’t show your finished block to anyone. The raffle quilt will be revealed at the October Guild meetings, beginning with the Evening meeting on October 30th.
