DOG KENNEL REFURBISHING PROJECT
Our shelter staff has taken advantage of the COVID-19 shut down time to do a lot of deep cleaning and organization all around the property, both inside and out. One of the biggest projects that was undertaken, was painting the dog kennels. This was the first time in the history of OKK9 that we have had no dogs on the premises at all, so it was the perfect opportunity to deep clean and reFURbish those areas. The before and after difference is incredible!

We our a huge debt of gratitude to Dugan's Paint and Flooring Center in Laurie, MO, along with Randy and Julie Hill for donating several gallons of ocean blue pool paint for this project. This special chlorinated rubber paint makes it easy for the kennels to be cleaned and disinfected on a daily basis, and the cheery color has really brightened up our halls. We invite you to come see this wonderful transformation for yourself when we reopen in June!
If you wish to help support OKK9 at this time in a "social distancing" approved manner, monetary contributions can be made using the DONATE button on our Facebook page.
Our animals appreciate you!
OKK KITTIES LOVE THEIR OUTDOOR CATIO
Our outdoor cat patio enclosure has been a long time in the making. We are thrilled to have gotten this project completed for them during our time closed. Though we don't have many cats in the building at the moment, the current residents are loving being outdoors in the fresh air. They have lots of climbing equipment and resting spots inside and bird feeders close by to provide the kitties with plenty of entertainment.
THRIFT STORE NEWS
Thank you to our loyal supporters for all the donations! Due to your overwhelming support, we have had to adjust our days to receive and process donations. We are still not back to our full group of volunteers yet due to health concerns, so had to be closed at times in order to get caught up. We appreciate your patience and understanding when this is necessary. By closing to allow our staff and volunteers to sort and stock items, we have been able to better identify our inventory and run some amazing sales.

We do want to report that our "soft opening" of the store the past couple of weeks has been a great success! We appreciate everyone's willingness to follow our safety protocol of wearing masks and social distancing.

Please remember that we are still not able to accept bedding donations at this time. If you have questions about items you wish to donate or drop-off times, you may call the thrift store directly at 573-374-2639. Thank you for your continued support!
BOARD MEMBERS WANTED
Are you looking for a unique opportunity to help animals in need? Ozarks Kat and K9 is looking for individuals to volunteer for our Board of Directors. We will be holding elections in October of this year for a three year term. Our board members typically work 10 to 20 hours per week on projects and assignments.

If you are interested in running for a position on our board, please send a reply email to this newsletter with a short biography and your reasons for wanting to join our cause.
ONLINE ADOPTION FORM!
We now have an online adoption application to make it easier for potential adopters to apply for a new family member! Click the "Adopt, Don't Shop" photo to fill out and submit the form directly from your phone or computer.
*COMMUNITY BARKS AND MEOWS*
We are so honored that several people have mailed or dropped off donations this month, saying that they were giving part of their stimulus money to help our animals. Giving back to your community during these uncertain times is such a wonderful thing to do. We are very grateful that so many people have included us on their list of organizations to support.
OUR ANIMALS THANK YOU!
