At one point during our Covid shutdown, we had only 4 adult cats remaining in the building. It was the first time in the shelter's history that there has been no dogs in our care. When we reopened at the beginning of June, the plan was to take things slow in case there was a need to shut down again. That certainly didn't last long! We currently have 37 feline and 17 canine residents living in our facility. With intakes and adoptions, those numbers tend to change every day.
The shelter is intaking animals again, but there is a lengthy waiting list on both cats and dogs. If you have animals in need of placement, please call 573-374-2629 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to see if you can be added to the list. We can also provide you with contact information of other rescue resources who may be able to help.
We will continue to monitor and limit the amount of people in our buildings when needed to ensure the safety of visitors and staff. Masks are not currently mandatory in the shelter building, but are encouraged when conducting business in close proximity to others.
If you need assistance or wish to drop off donations for our animals and have social distancing concerns, please feel free to call ahead and we will do our best to accomodate you. We appreciate everyone's cooperation during these unique circumstances.
