This past year has been a challenging one with the pandemic and all of the changes that has caused. Through it all, however, the Thrift Store has been blessed with continued donations from our supportive community and has maintained a high sales volume, setting a sales record in June.
As 2020 is coming to a close, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the volunteers who work endlessly to make sure that merchandise is sorted and put out on the sales floor.
Some of you may not realize that we only have 2 paid positions at the store, our full time manager and our part time retail associate. All other workers you see in the store are volunteers who donate their time and energy to help keep things running.
Volunteers worked hard during the store shutdown in March cleaning the floors and making repairs. Staff and volunteers worked together to reorganize and stock the sales floor in preparation for reopening in May. Customer reactions to the reorganization was very positive and complimentary. Countless hours go into maintaining the store so that our customers have a good shopping experience, finding those bargains.
Proceeds from store sales go to support our no-kill shelter. By operating primarily with volunteers, we have less overhead and are able to funnel more money to support our shelter.
You've heard it said that "it takes a village". We are very blessed indeed to be a part of this village. Thank you to everyone for helping us achieve our mission.
During this holiday season, we wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
