WHYY is hosting the Neighbors & Newsroom Summit with the goal of better connecting communities by building relationships between residents and reporters.
This virtual event will take place on Wednesday, January 26 at 12 noon. During this time, members of the community will have the chance to engage in discussion with partners from the News & Information Community Exchange (N.I.C.E.) through panels and Q&As in regards to coverage, collaboration,and community.

Supporting Mental Health Awareness |

" Mind Over Matter" is a mental health initiative presented by WVIA that seeks to improve the mental and physical health of all community members.
In the next program, "It's Okay to Not be Okay", moderator Tracey Matisak discusses Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, suicide, behavioral health, teen depression, and more, with a panel of regional experts. Watch the program Thursday, January 27th at 8pm.

WQED is partnering with WPSU and PBS39 for their annual Writers Contest! Students in Kindergarten-3rd grade can submit their entries through WQED's website from now until March 15, 2022. This year's theme is "Write My Future." We encourage students to dream big, imagine their future, and then share their story!

WQLN is also accepting submissions for their contest for Kindergarten-5th graders through March 31, 2022. The contest invites kids to experience the hands-on process of developing their own stories and illustrations, which builds language skills such as reading, grammar and syntax, and encourages creativity.
First, second, and third place winners will be awarded at each grade level with cool prizes and opportunities!

Lehigh Valley Reads (LVR) is set to begin their third Million Minute Challenge! The Challenge is another step in achieving LVR's goal of all 3rd grade students in the Lehigh Valley reading on grade level by 2025.
Everyone can participate and with a record-setting 7,588,000 minutes read in 2021, the Lehigh Valley showed its commitment to reading!
Registration opens February 1 for this year's Challenge.

Since 2019, WITF has partnered with Rotary District 7390 to honor Kindergarten through 12th grade teachers in the seven-county area the rotary serves. Teachers who have made a significant difference in the lives of their students will be recognized at an awards ceremony on May 24th and in a TV program. - On Monday, February from 2:30-4:45pm, you can get hands-on learning as part of one of the STEM playgrounds. Tap into the power of learning with resources for all content areas and age groups.
- On Tuesday, February 8 from 3:30-4:30pm, join us to learn about "Options for Educational Equity". Learn and see a demo of how high-quality, rich, digital content that can be "datacasted" using existing TV airwaves is an equitable educational resource for your students and their families who do not have internet access outside of school.
- Visit our booth (#124) outside the large exhibitor room throughout the day on Monday and Tuesday to get pictures with familiar PBS character cut-outs, and enter drawings for cool giveaways!
