Thank You for Your Year of Service!

This month we said goodbye to our wonderful Young Adult Volunteer from the Presbyterian Church, Meg Wilder. Meg was an invaluable asset at Eden House during her year of service and her presence is greatly missed in our houses. We look forward to welcoming our next YAV in September and continuing our relationship with the Presbyterian Church.

Welcoming Baby!

A former resident of Eden House became a new mom on July 26th with the birth of her daughter. As she transitions into her new role as a mother, our community can support her by contributing to her meal train.

From Eden House to Eden Center: Building Dreams

You’re invited to an exciting evening to celebrate From Eden House to Eden Center: Building Dreams, the annual fundraiser to benefit Eden House and the clients we serve. This year’s event will start with an exclusive Patron Party with champagne, oysters, and more then continue with many other culinary treats and even a bourbon room to complement our other spirits. By popular demand, we are bringing back our favorite theme of “Ball Gowns and Blue Jeans”. The event will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 with the Patron Party beginning at 6:30 PM and the main event at 7:30 PM. Regular admission tickets are available for $250 and Patron tickets are available for $500. Purchase by clicking the button below. Tickets can also be purchased by check made payable to Eden House. Please mail to PO Box 750386, New Orleans, LA 70175.

The fundraiser is a great opportunity for your company to sponsor Eden House and receive a great deal of PR and exposure. We will gratefully acknowledge all of our sponsors during both the Patron Party and Main Event as well as on the invitation, the program, and in all social media. This is a great opportunity to gain visibility in the community as a company who will not tolerate Human Trafficking and who is dedicated to healing those who are impacted by this injustice. For more information about sponsorship levels please click the button below or reach out to Peggy Babin at 504-669-4417.

Thank You to Our Summer Interns!

This summer we hosted seven wonderful interns with a passion for supporting survivors of human trafficking. They contributed to a number of projects including organizing our donation closet, providing grant writing support, updating our community resource guide, and preparing our weekly community meal. On July 19th, they had the opportunity to tour the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal with an Eden House board member, Honorable Judge Joy Lobrano. Thank you so much to Judge Lobrano and her staff for introducing our intern class to their work in the Fourth Circuit and for their support of Eden House's mission.

Volunteer Opportunities

Are you interested in volunteering with Eden House? Volunteers are an integral part of our operation and we love to give community members a chance to participate in our organization. Currently our greatest volunteer needs are for driving residents to regular appointments, doing repairs in our two homes, and planning activities for our residents to attend on evenings and weekends. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please fill out the volunteer form by clicking on the button below.

Collecting Donations for Emergency Center

The renovations for our forthcoming Emergency Center are underway! There, Eden House will provide short-term emergency housing and services for human trafficking victims who need immediate assistance in the Greater New Orleans area. This will be the only emergency center in our region designed specifically for adult victims of human trafficking.
