2025 BOTTOMS UP! FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN

MODERNIZING COLON CARE AT BROCKVILLE GENERAL HOSPITAL

The Brockville & District Hospital Foundation is excited to launch it's 2025 Bottoms Up! Campaign, focused on raising funds to modernized colon care and screening equipment at Brockville General Hospital.

Colon screening is vital for early detection, treatment and effective care, leading to better outcomes for our patients.

While we recognize that colon care can be a delicate topic, we invite the community to join us in the conversation and support this import cause.

Every donation, big or small, brings us one step closer to our goal of raising funds for advanced, state-of-the-art screening equipment that will enable faster, more accurate diagnosis.

Your support is crucial in helping us provide our patients with the opportunity for healthier, longer lives. Your support truly makes a difference!

CELEBRATING A LIFE WELL-LIVED

A Gift that Continues a Mother's Legacy

Norman C. Kidd presents a new BI-LATERAL CPAP Machine to Trish Buote, Executive Director of the Brockville & District Hospital Foundation, in memory of his mother, Patricia Kidd.

The Brockville & District Hospital Foundation recently had the honour of meeting a dedicated son and all-around wonderful person, Norman C. Kidd, who, in memory of his late mother, Patricia Nadine Kidd, generously donated a new BILEVEL PAP DEVICE for use at Brockville General Hospital. This thoughtful contribution comes at a crucial time, as one of the machines had recently broken, making it an especially meaningful and valued addition to our hospital.

Patricia Nadine Kidd was a warm-hearted and generous woman who embodied the very best of family and friendship. She offered unconditional love to all who recognized and were open to it. Patricia Nadine Kidd believed in the importance of family and friends supporting one another through both good and bad times, always working to find common ground, mending relationships when necessary, and never giving up - no matter how challenging the circumstances or personalities involved. Her sentiment is one we can all strive to emulate in our own lives.

Patricia Nadine Kidd lived with loyalty, support and encouragement for everyone fortunate enough to meet her. Though she leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of those who loved her, her spirit of love and encouragement lives on through this meaningful gift made in her honour.

As her son, Norman C. Kidd would say to his mother each night, "You must never be worried about ever being alone as you will never be alone. You will always be in my heart, and I in yours."

May we all find comfort in those words and be forever grateful for the generosity and the life

well-lived of Patricia Nadine Kidd.

DANCING TO THE TROPICAL VIBES

3rd Annual Fundraising Event Supports Palliative Care

From L-R: Emily Maskell, Resident Physician – Dr. Cotoros, Jonathan Zinck, Physican - Dr. Jaworski, Kailyn Howison (RN), Tropical Vibes organizers: Jeanette MacNaughtan & Maddie Couture; Trish Buote, Shannon Wilson (RN), Nicole Gibson (RN), Ben Gallacher (Manager)

On February 22nd, the family and friends of Jeff Boisvenue gathered at the Tropical Vibes Fundraiser, where guests donned their most stylish tropical attire and danced the night away to live music from The Posse.

The 3rd annual event was a moving tribute to Jeff Boisvenue, who passed away from pancreatic cancer on July 29, 2022. His memory was honoured throughout the evening.

The fundraiser was a tremendous success, raising $35,000 through monetary donations, corporate and family sponsorships, and activities such as a 50/50 draw, silent auction, and ticket sales.

Of the total amount raised this year, $18,000 was donated to the Palliative Care Telethon to support the Brockville General Hospital Palliative Care program, while the remainder was pledged to Pancreatic Cancer Canada.

This event marks the third fundraiser held in Jeff's memory, raising a total of $36,275 for Palliative Care, a testament to the lasting impact he made and the unwavering support of his loved ones.

In addition to honouring Jeff, the fundraiser also paid tribute to his father, Louis Boisvenue, who passed away August 31, 2023. Louis had benefited from the Palliative Care program for 8 months following a terminal cancer diagnosis and was able to spend his final days at home, thanks to the Palliative Care Outreach program. He deeply valued the care he received, and his passing left a significant void in the community. While the fundraiser was dedicated to Jeff, Louis’s absence was keenly felt by all.

The Brockville & District Hospital Foundation would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Boisvenue family for their generous contribution, ensuring that the legacies of Jeff and Louis continue to inspire and support their community.
