The time has come. The three years that we were limited to meeting virtually and of only being able to hold virtual events, are now over.
As we gather on February 23rd for SMSDC’s first in-person event for the Annual Stakeholder’s Meeting at the Toyota Motor Manufacturing plant in San Antonio Texas, we are thrilled to interact face to face once again, and to warmly connect with each other.
Those of us MBEs who have participated at SMSDC’s events know that though this, as well as all other events throughout the year, we have the ability to build relationships with other Certified MBEs and with Corporate members in pursuit of business opportunities.
2023 is a year for elections for MBEIC Chair. This will be an on-site voting ONLY event!!! So if you want your voice to be heard, you must attend.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your support all this time and share with you that I will be running for an additional term.
My goals are to finish what I started, and what I have devoted myself to doing as your MBEIC Chair; work, along with many other things was disrupted by the pandemic; as well as to help increase activity and improve results and success stories through our MBEIC.
I seek to leverage with your support the momentum that has been built thus far with the connections that have been made, the learning we have achieved through connections brought to our Lunch and Learn Sessions, and so much more. Your vote is very important! It means you want a Chair who will be your voice both at the regional and national council level, but also that brings valuable information and actionable items. So, make your vote count.
The Annual Stakeholders Meeting is an all-day event starting at 8:30am with MBEIC Chair Elections at 9:00am. Other items on the schedule for the day are: Upcoming Opportunities with SMSDC Corporate Members, Toyota Plant Tour, Capacity Plus Class for Certified MBEs. So, make sure to be there!

My focus at the moment has been to work on virtual LUNCH & LEARN sessions, so we can reach ALL regions. Our next MBEIC Lunch & Learn is May 18th.
As you know, we have had amazing presenters, MBDA/UTSA, JP Morgan Chase, Wal-Mart.
These are just to name a few.
In 2019 SMSDC had its BIGGEST Premier Face Time EXPO & Golf tournament. Let 2023 shadow 2019. EARLY BIRD registration will end May 26th. Come out and enjoy a beautiful day with Corporations and MBEs. You don’t need to play golf to ride in a golf cart and connect with others.
SMSDC has amazing activities planned for 2023 for Certified MBEs and Corporate Members. Let’s continue building opportunities and consider growth through MBE2MBE collaborations. You are a key part in this growth and expansion plan.
