ASSOCIATE PASTOR'S MESSAGE
Dear Church,
This Sunday we will explore a passage from 2 Kings in which a great commanding officer of a foreign kingdom, Naaman, seeks out the prophet Elisha in order to be healed of a skin disease. While he seeks an improvement to his life, what he receives is life changing. And in a way that he simply could not have imagined. Come and see how God worked in unexpected ways in Naaman's story, and see how God is doing the same in your life today. ALL are welcome online or in person.
In faith,
Pastor Cydney

Second Hour With Pastor Patrick | |
Join us this Sunday, November 8, from 11:00 a.m. to noon in the Lounge for a Q&A about Pastor Patrick’s exploration of National Guard chaplaincy while continuing his ministry at
First Church. Together, we’ll consider how this calling could be a gift to Patrick and the congregation, extending our shared ministry and helping us grow as a community.
All are welcome to ask questions, share concerns, and learn more.

60th Annual Christmas Tree and Wreath Sale
Tree Sale Volunteers - Sign Ups Now Open
New Dates This Year!
The 2026 Christmas Tree and Wreath Sale begins on Friday, November 27 and runs through Sunday November 29. Volunteers are the KEY to the success of the sale, which raised over $60,000 for local charities last year. It is also a wonderful introduction to First Church for new residents in the community.
There are jobs for ALL volunteers - welcoming greeters, cashiers, and salespeople.
Sign ups will go live next week. Help us help those in need and make First Church shine!

Help Us
Get Ahead
for the Holidays
Did you know?
- 20% of GHS students (about 600 kids) qualify for free or reduced lunch.
That is one out of every five GHS students.
-
Our GHS Community Pantry now serves nearly 150 students,
averaging about 100 visits a week.
- SNAP benefits can’t be used for essentials like
laundry detergent, shampoo, or feminine products.
-
The GHS Community Pantry is the only pantry
specifically helping our GHS students and their families.
As the need keeps growing, we’ve expanded to three days a week: Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Now we need your help to make sure our shelves stay fully stocked. We are kicking off a pre-holiday drive to carry us through the busy holiday season. Our goal is to raise $2,000 and clear our Amazon wish list!
There are two easy ways to give:
Donate through the PTA website
Cash lets us buy fresh produce and fill the gaps week to week.
Shop our Amazon wish list
Items ship straight to school. Every single item helps.
Thank you for taking care of our GHS community!
There is a collection bin at the Meetinghouse entrance
by the cemetery for your convenience.

Moral Mondays take place every Monday at 12:30 at the Stamford courthouse and offer a visible, interfaith space for prayerful presence and public moral witness when justice and human dignity feel under threat. In our local community, we gather for faithful witness to Immigrant Justice in our neighborhoods and nation.
For ongoing updates and coordination, colleagues and community members are also welcome to join our Moral Mondays Facebook group HERE

STICK YOGA: Saturday mornings, from 10.30 - 11.30 am
FREE TRIAL CLASS for members of First Church and after that $20 per class.
Bamboo stick yoga is a captivating fun way to explore stretching, balancing, conscious breathing and coordination, using a long light (bamboo) stick. Some movements come from a Qigong method.
Please bring a yoga mat, and a yoga stick. You can purchase one online (e.g. the Karma Heart Yoga Stick), or make one, or use a broomstick. The stick should be approximately as tall as you. Bring your little ones to church -
we completely EMBRACE them.
At First Church, we believe the way we welcome children in worship directly affects the way they respond to God, to the church, and to one another.
To welcome children as they are in worship, we have our PrayGround, located in the Chapel (front right side of the Meetinghouse), where children and others of all ages can engage in worship through movement, sensory materials, and prayerful play.
The presence of all God’s children is a gift to the church, which offers hope for all. Scan the QR code to access PrayGround FAQs and Helpful Tips.
